In the original post in picture #3 you will see two black rectangles at the forward end of the seat pan. In picture #5 he has replaced one with a round bumper.
Yours,
Rick
Ok thanks for that, although the pictures are of a very low resolution and I can't really see many details, now I know what you're and Nissbird are referring to
So thanks again for your assistance.

I did this on Friday and it was a big improvement. Thanks for posting it!

Hey guys, Do you guys have a gap between the tank and the seat after doing this mod? Normally the seat sits against the tank but if you lower the back the front will probably lift and move away from the tank. I could probably never stop looking at that gap. Haha

My seat (Terry’s Custom seat) is comfy, but after using it for three years I realized I could use just a touch less rise in the front of the seat. I replaced the front bumpers under the seat with the shorter ones and now it sits just a bit lower in the front but still level. The upshot is now it is easier to move up a bit when stopped and it’s an easy reach for my feet to the ground. It seems I have much better control when stopped and not as much of a top heavy feel.
I haven’t ridden yet this year but I’ll be out and about Monday with any luck.

My new Touratech seat still had just enough rise in the front to need adjustment. I did this mod and it works great, seat is nice and tight.

Does any of you know the thickness of the short bumper? I couldn't find short bumper and planning to cut thick one to the value you tell.

It is a simple fix and makes a good difference. I use the seat on the higher position, so I had to replace only two pads (middle ones). I also used a 3rd one in the bracket.
I've seen suggestions of drilling the bracket, but I preferred instead to cut the pin in this last pad and use a heavy-duty double tape instead.
Wondering where i can get these small bumpers in canada and not pay 30 per plus shipping it is like worth like 2 each

I just done the seat mod as I found the original tilt made me slide forward in my trousers and kept having to sit at the back of the seat. I'll try it out at the weekend

Did you find some? I ordered a few from my local Yam dealer yesterday @ $8 each. Not bad I think all things considered.

After a morning ride , the seat felt a lot better. To be honest, I didn't even think about the seat during the ride, so very happy with it. Great cheap mod that works.
