First time trip poster here!
Got the S'Ten from a member here back in '19 as I was looking for a good comfy 2UP for travel, '20 ended being a bust for intl travel because of "the shit" so here came year '21, vaccinated, almost packed for 2 weeks of riding and camping .
As the restrictions waned and we already had time off booked we weren't sure about the route but we knew somewhere in the Alps. Lo and behold I start looking around a week before travel to get a feel of the area (maybe prepare something for the GPS) and I find these guys https://www.giroola.com/tours/motorbike-tours/5-days-motorcycle-piedmont-all-mountain-passes-adventure-and-down-23-passes. Looked interesting enough so I plan my days based on their route, where they lodge I look for a camp, where they take main roads I pick sides and so on.
Ended up with this little gem of a trip on asphalt, mountain passes, tight bends and such. Have a look at the below routes; they're a 5 day tour but you can stop anywhere for a few days and enjoy the sights (we managed to get in some hiking and a detour to 5 Terre). Wish I had some knobbies to put in some gravel.
The peaks and passes: Colle di Cadibon, Melogno, San Bernardo, Nava, Tenda , Lombarda, Bonette, Maddalena, Sampeyre, Agnello , Izoard , Monginevro, Moncenisio, Iseran , Piccolo San Bernardo, San Carlo, San Pantaleon
Day1 https://goo.gl/maps/4WNvMw2J7XL1vWGV8 SP15 is a gem of a road, 1 car wide lots of twists and bends, great views
Day2 https://goo.gl/maps/DE26KuhCkaqw1poy9
Day3 https://goo.gl/maps/8qHUEsZ8CnGQUW2V8
Day4 https://goo.gl/maps/gNaNYFstpUttT95o7
Day5 https://goo.gl/maps/cZfJcQmSWKJCqpYx5
FYI, on the Alps passes there are photo operators which will take pictures of you in the bends after which you can get online as print or digital download.
About the campsites, we liked the northern/alpine ones more; better stocked, cleaner, free showers; southern campsites felt laxed (must be the heat).
