Two years ago I had a '14 V-Strom 1000, Red with Black (BUMOT) luggage. And an '05 Yamaha Royal Star tour deluxe, also Red and Black. My grand-daughter was part of a car wash fund raiser one Saturday. I rode the Strom over and they washed it, then went home and got the RSTD and took it over.

The lady who was taking the money, who also knew I was there supporting my grand-daughter said, "Wow...that's nice that you get your bike washed twice, Thanks!".....

I rode a 89FJ for years then I got a 05FJR then I wound up with the Super Tenere. My co workers thought I put gold forks on the FJ. Now they call my bike the terminator bike, and transformer bike, and the one feller who knew what it was and what it's purpose was for calls it a jungle bike. it is entertaining hearing the things it is called.

I had a kid, who was driving a riced out Civic, come over to me at a gas station when I was fueling up my ST1300. He says "Wow, nice bike, when did Honda start making motorcycles?"

Most folks think mine is a bmw, I had 2 BMWs before this so thats a factor. Most dont recognise the yamaha symbol as yamaha. Its not like BMWs symbol which everyone identifies with BMW.
