Excellent choice!
It's a beautiful place.
It's like an hour from my place but it's on an alternative way up to the Dolomites...
So it's a strategic place to meet up.
I don't mind actually about the meeting time, it's entirety up to you....
I finish work around 17'00 o'clock on the Friday you will be in Marostica.
If you don't mind we could meet up for a pizza or something else that night and plan the rest of the weekend together.
Bassano del Grappa which is near by Marostica is also a nice place to visit .
There's also Monte Grappa with its second war memorial to be seen around there...
Any way let me know what your plan will be and I get organized around that.
been here a few times to the ducati owners club

Is there anything in particular you would like to see while you will be here?
I just ask so that I can plan something.

I would certainly like to ride the Passo Giau. But you know the Dolomites so I will just go where your favourite roads are.I am staying in Skrad in Slovenia on the evening of 11/5/23.So I have a 207 mile ride to Marostica on the 12/5/23.So I should be in Marostica around 13.00 hours.I can then meet you somewhere for this pizza.I still have not decided on what tyres I am putting on for the trip.I have two pairs of Mitas EO7+ here but I am concerned they will not be the best choice for over 5000 miles of tarmac.I purchased them for riding off road in mid Wales and generally on tarmac around the UK.I purchased a new Garmin Zumo XT for the trip and this is my first Sat nav.I have been riding around Europe for the last 32 years with maps on the tank.So this Sat nav is something new to me.It will take some getting used to.

The steeper and narrower the roads the better for me.I do not mind riding some off road tracks either. One of the craziest roads I went up was in France about 6 years ago.It is called Les Lacets de Montvernier.

Giau is my favourite place...
We can go to it by the shortest way up, about 2 and an half hours from Marostica and then go back through Passo Falzarego and Passo Pordoi.
We will plan it on Friday in front a nice pizza!
I currently run Continental Trail attack 3 , very very happy with them.
I have had them for just over 10'000 km (6000 miles more or less) and I reckon they will last probably 5000 km more (3000 miles).
Just another option.

I looked up at the map and I came up with " sort of a plan...."
We could go up " your" way from Marostica and come down through " my valley"...
It is your trip so I will go anywhere you like but off road, unless we get lost lolScreenshot_2023-03-28-09-57-20-757_com.google.android.apps.maps.jpg Screenshot_2023-03-28-09-56-45-075_com.google.android.apps.maps.jpg

This is the area where YOU LIVE.I have no idea what is where and how to get there. YOU DO.So I will just follow you.I have two daughters aged 3 and 5 and they have myself and the wife up most mornings at 5.30 to 6.00.So I can be ready for 7am if
you want to start that early.I raced Motocross bikes in the ACU for 10 years,so I am experienced riding off road.Compared to what I was used to on motocross sand tracks riding these forest roads and narrow tracks on a Super Tenere is easy.Go on You Tube Watch Adventure country tracks Italy Greece Portugal.Pyrenees.Romania.I would love to do the ACT Greece but i will not have time to do it.My shortest day is 272km from Xhyre to Kalabaka.and my longest day is 820km from Marostica to Merzig.I have done these 900km days on a Honda Fireblade so on a Super tenere it will be easier.I am impressed with the Garmin Zumo XT I have bought. The adventurous route are good on it.I have purchased a pair of Metzeler tourance for the trip to Greece. The Continental trail attack were expensive.around €170 for the rear tyre alone. The Tourance were €236 for a pair.It costs €17 per wheel to fit and balance them.I go to the Yamaha off road school in Mid Wales on the 12/4/23 for the day.riding their Tenere 700.as a mate of mine has one and they are fun bike to ride off road.My wife takes the girls to the Zoo.I go off roading on the Tenere 700 all day I certainly do not want to walk around all day looking at caged animals.

Unfortunately I don't do off road but I think you will still like the places around here.
I thought to put some deep and narrow roads ," technical" I would call them.
We will see together on Friday night which route to choose depending on how tired you might be from the rest of trip you would already have done by then.
Dolomites routes are funny to be driven, not very narrow and enough fast to have fun.
I found the Super Tenere right for the job around here.
And personally I think around 07'00 07'30 it would be ideal to leave Marostica so that we won't find too much traffic ( even thought in May it's still chilly and not very crowded).

We’re up there next week, stopping a few miles away, but I’m there for a day at MickExtance offroad school and won’t have time to go anywhere else. But we are then up on Angelsey for a week. Tried to do that road north to Bala from the lake a few years back, but it was wayto icy. 45C24D29-250C-4EE9-AEA3-B41C92F03191.jpeg

Fare play to you.being out on icy roads. Anglesey is not the most exciting place to ride a bike.as Its very flat. Some nice places around the coast. As soon as you go over the brittania bridge take the A4080 it goes through some nice woodlands at Newborough.

It wasn’t out of choice:), the weekend started out ok, but temps plummeted so we just carried on, but where salt had kept the main roads passable, the gritters don’t venture up those lanes!!
We’re stopping up at Brynteg for the week over Easter. Same as we did last year. Decided there’s plenty for us to see for a second visit. Not sure the wife will be too happy to explore off road routes, ill have to be satisfied with my day in the hills above Vyrnwy.
