As part of my " warm up" preseason trip...
The town of Marostica View attachment 100547
Nice.I have now completed sourcing all my accomodation for my ride down to greece.I was originally going through Bosnia Montenegro and Albania but the
Motorcycle insurance company I am with does not provide cover for riding in these 3 countries as they are not in the EU.So I have had to re route my trip through Hungary Romania Bulgaria.I will still be in Marostica on afternoon of the 12/5/23.I changed my engine oil.oil filter and shaft oil today. My new tyres will go on around 24/4/23.I have never been further east than Slovenia before. So this will be an experience for me.I got photographed by a speed camera last week on my bike. They had me for doing 72 kmh.but I do not know whether it was in a 48kmh or 64kmh area of the town. They will let me know my fine etc in next two weeks.I went for a day at the Yamaha off road experience on Wednesday.riding their Tenere 700 through the forests and along gnarly muddy trails crossing streams.it was brilliant.I will be going to Teutschenthal 11th June.Lommel July 23rd.Arnhem 20th August to see rounds of the MXGP.The Italian round is on tomorrow at Trentino somewhere near you.I will probably attend this next year.Where are you going on your bike this year? Steven.

My plan is to go to Portugal on August...
Few years back I have been to the most Northern European spot now I am planning to go to the most Western (?) one.
We'll see.
Romania is on my list too but I will have to wait a little more...

I rode through Hungary in 2018, didn’t know I needed a toll sticker for the motorway. The fine followed me back to the UK. My fault, paid up promptly. I came down through Slovakia and Croatia though.
If you haven’t already, it might be worth a check on toll requirements where you’re going.

Serbia & Croatia you would need a "vignetta".
It's a road toll and I think it lasts a week.

I’m pretty sure that in most countries where tolls apply, it’s only if you use the motorway system.

I have just done some research into this.Greece and Croatia have tolls on their motorways/bridges where you pay for the section of the motorway you use like the Peage in France.Bulgaria and Romania have a Vignette system but Motorcycles do not need to purchase one as they are exempt.Hungary has a Vignette and the current cost for motorcycles is 2750 Ft (£6.51) for 10 days.Austria €5.80 (£5.14) 10 days.
