Hi, tried searching on this topic but didn't find any answers, so here it is front and center

Many, if not all of the vids and pictures show the two tone seat. This must be the European version as I haven't seen the US bikes with the same setup. Is this based on the year of the bike. I do like the 2 tone.
The display model I saw had the solid black non slip seat.

So far, I like all the aspects of the more understated US trim (decals, black side panels, black seat). But entirely subjective.

color likes or dislikes aside, i wonder if when riding in a hot environment, the gray seat would be cooler than a black one.

I like the all black version but I am sure there must be some owners overseas with the two-tone version that would rather have all black. Maybe some trades are in order.

I prefer the look of the all-black seat. It might match better, too, when folks start painting their bikes different colors. As speedstar says, I'm sure there will be some folks that want to trade their black/silver seats for all black.

I prefer the two tone seat. Gives the bike a slightly different perspective. Even if I change the seat for a bit of aftermarket luxury I'll still go the two tone route. Each to their own heh ;)

Maybe we need to go ahead and setup a trade section where owners can post items they would be interested in trading with other owners? I will have lots of black stuff, may be interested in trading for silver... :D

I like my two tone seat but the light grey sides seem to mark easily and dont appear to be the most robust of materials. I havent split it (just breaking 600miles so hardly stressed it) and appreciate appearance can be deceptive as my old 2002 GSA seat split very easily but did look hard wearing.
Might be something to keep an eye on I suspect the lower corners may fray with repeated wear /use.

I had a two tone corbin seat that I really liked, then again the bike is silver so the sides of the seat really complimented the bike.
Definetely a subjective thing.

I agree with a "trade" section too.

Yep - might work well for those that are wanting to trade their silver for black (or black for silver) grab rails, etc.....

How 'bout trading my black side panels for some like new silver ones?
I'm still on the fence about the black vs silver side panels. If worse comes to worse, I'll have my (professional bodyman) stepson repaint mine, as he did on my KLR.
