Day-9

366 Miles to Home!

I woke up to another gorgeous day!
I sat and enjoyed coffee and breakfast, and then packed up Camp for the last time.

I said farewell to my neighbor, and wished him good riding................
(I was totally envious of his setup, but man that's a lot of rig!)

I fueled up the Bike at the Chevron just down the street, and headed on down the road.
I followed Hwy-128 along the Colorado River....................I love riding this stretch of road through the Canyon.

I made my way through the ghost-town of Cisco, and then hopped on Interstate-70.
I would have liked to spend a couple more days getting home via the back-roads and dirt-passes, but I had to be at work the following day so Interstate it is.............

A short way down the Highway I reached the Colorado border.

I kept-on truckin, making the miles back to Home.

I stopped at Glenwood Springs for Fuel and a convenience-store lunch at a nearby picnic table.
I took a couple final pictures of some Fall-colors..........................I was glad to see the leaves were still hangin-around.

The rest of the ride was just an easy cruise through the Mountains of Colorado, over Vail-Pass and Loveland-Pass and back down into the Denver metro area.

It really was great to be safely back Home............... 2,500-Smiles later.
I am not sure how we did it, but Cap'n Ron and I had absolutely Perfect weather the whole trip!
Mother-Nature was sure smiling on us this time, and the Fork-seals and front-wheel held for the remainder of the trip.

Here's the basic Map of my final day.

And here is the 3D video of my final Ride-Route.

Thanks everyone for sticking around till the end!
I can't wait to see what this year's riding season brings.

captain Ron you mention wouldn’t happen to be THE captain Ron of moto expo would it?
Nope, not the same Cap'n Ron.
He is just our good friend Ron. We call him Cap'n Ron because he is actually a Sailor (he currently lives on his Sailboat, docked in San-Francisco Bay)

Hey Skunkworks, what is the little orange thing next to your stove's fuel tank in the first pic of day 9?
It is a Magnetic Silicone Pot-Gripper, so I don't burn my fingers when i grab my boiling water to pour.

You stick your index and middle fingers in the curved part, and use your thumb to pinch with the flat part.
it works pretty well for lightweight hot things.

This is my Cooking setup that I use:

The plastic "Spork" that it came with got tossed.
I use an extra-long Titanium Spoon for eating.

It packs up pretty small.
Everything fits inside the Cook-Pot, stove, fuel-canister, gripper, and wind-deflector for the stove.

The stove boils water pretty fast. I also use it to start a campfire sometimes...............
I've had to replace the ignitor once already though. (I was careless when twisting the stove onto the fuel canister) But I always have a lighter in my tank-bag anyway.
