Is it just me, or are the US version bikes coming with even larger and uglier turn signals than the Euro version?
They seem way fatter and rounder rather than the longer flatter Euro version, not to be confused with the LED signals.

I will have to get the LED signals right away.

Yeah, I think that I remember Jaxon saying something about the DOT requiring larger turn signals and that L.E.D.'s would not be offered in the U.S. for the same reason. I already have a set of L.E.D.'s that I bought from yamabits.uk. We don't get safety inspections over here in Florida, anyway, so I'm gonna switch em.

I had previously seen one at the IMS show in Cleveland... but riding it, the front signals do stand out, and from the back the rear ones stand out. I think they look a little old school, especially next to the cool, and throughly modern brake light.

LED turn signals were not on my list of farkles before delivery... but they are now.

I had planned on getting clear lenses and using the oem signals but these are huge.

I agree, any Euro owners want to sell their take-off signals?

Maybe I will have to order some from Yamabits.

I've got the Yamaha LED signals sitting in the shop. Hopefully the bike will be ready for them this weekend...

I ordered mine from a Yamaha dealer in Canada.

BTW, there was some discussion a while back over on ADV about swapping the flasher relay for an electronic one and throwing out the resisters. Seems like a guy over in South Africa did it and said that it worked great. One thing to consider, if you're thinking of doing this. I plan to give it a go next week. Will let you guys know how it goes.

I don't mind them being big. Better seen than not. First thing I noticed was the front ones were running lights as well. I never noticed that on the Euro models before. Either way I will not be changing mine for smaller units.

Anyone have a better option for getting the Yamaha LED than Yamabits.com?

You may want to take a look here.. http://tinyurl.com/3vdj8yq
The after market lights for the S10 will start to show up soon, and some for other bikes may already fit.
Just like the dog bones, if you know the size, there may be some out there that will be what you need.

I think the after market will explode now that the bikes are here.

I went ahead just now and ordered the Yamaha LED signals from Yamabits. Maybe a little more pricey than some other options but Wasp's pics got me and that is the look I liked.

I will post pics when I get them. I am sure we have all seen Greg's pics of his install of them.

Yo Speedy ... you're gonna love those LEDs. Although you should know this .... they are actually not the same stem size as the original so blanking spacers are supplied. When you install you will need to leave out one of the four resistors. Apart from that they're lush 8)

Or, you can leave out all of the resisters and get an electronic flasher relay. They are universal for most of the Japanese bikes. I got mine from custom dynamics for $20. The OEM flasher relay works by turning on the light and then as the amperage draw reaches a certain amount, it cuts off and starts over. The electronic relay simply flashes as the programmed rate, regardless of amperage. Your turn signal/hazard flasher circuit will use way less amps and work prefectly. The resister method works fine, too, but it is really just forcing the circuit to use the amps that the OEM flashers need so that the OEM flasher relay will work properly.

ptfjjj - have you done the LED install with the electronic flasher relay from customdynamics yet? I saw from your previous post that you have the relay. If you have installed it, where is the relay and is it simply unplug OEM and install the new electronic relay? Then ditch the resistors and connect the two wires on the LED to the existing wires on the OEM signals?

I haven't gotten to that one, yet. The relay is under the right cowl above the battery. I hope to get to that one soon and will let you know how it works out. I got the info over on ADV, and from what I understand, the relay fits exactly where the OEM relay fits and it provides the same flash sequence regardless of how much, or little, power the lights consume. I printed out all of the diagrams, I just have to motivate myself to get out in the humid heat long enough to get it done.

Thanks Paul. I will look forward to hearing how it goes. I did see the post on AdvRider where Bundu said it was a direct plug and play. I guess I will go ahead and order one from CustomDynamics. Thanks for the help.
