No fun at all. Sorry you are having such a battle with this. Drill or dremel off the head and pull the base off. At that point, you should be able to take care of it. Beers have their purpose. Good to step back now and then and ponder the different avenues to follow.

I had exactly the same problem with my rack. I took it back to dealer and said its a warranty issue. Got a call from them in 2 hours and they had got it off. They rammed a torx bit into the head and that did the trick.

Thanks for everyone's help and suggestions.
After completely removing the head, with the hole drilled completely through it, I used a bolt extractor in a drill to remove the scew. The threads were red from top to bottom. I don't know why! I now have my topcase mounted. Thanks again.

Wow! Zero loctite on both of mine when I removed them. One new, ('12), one second owner, (2k mile '15). I don't think the factory would red loctite that. Sucks that you had such a battle. Glad to read you got it off and can go back to what should have been a ten minute job.

Thanks for posting the outcome!

It was a battle. I bought this in the crate last week in March. I tried the other end and can't move it either. Glad I don't need it off. It's done , I'm glad!

I bought the Kappa 2101, did some reading here while I was waiting for it to arrive, and found this thread.

Thanks for posting it up! I took precautions based upon your lessons learned, and got that bolt out cleanly.

Hammer drill did nothing. Old school impact driver didn't turn it, but I believe that it broke the stick on the Loctite red that was on the threads. I ground a hex bit head flat so it would seat fully, and using a breaker bar, got it to come free finally.

Took a tap to the threads to clean out the hole and that was necessary, couldn't spin the bolt in otherwise.

Thanks for passing on the lessons learned!

I just had the same problem. Tried acetone soak (for blue loc tite) and then methylene chloride aka paint stripper (for red loc tite). Broke a wrench, tried an impact tool too. Success with a precision set up jig and 7mm drill bit. Managed to not damage the thread as at about half way the remaining bolt was turning out the bottom. In this case it was red loc tite, very tight..
