I lived up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina for a while and they put down more horrible ice melting materials than in the northern states. I watched my Tahoe rot before my eyes in a matter of 5 years - the frame was destroyed, all fasteners underneath were rotted away, front and rear differential covers had pinhole leaks due to rust.....it was a nightmare. And that was me washing the truck once a week, including the underbody.
I sprayed the undercarriage of my new to me Titan liberally with Woolwax (like Fluid Film). It seemed to prevent the usual rusting I would see on past vehicles. Only bitch of it is it collects a lot of road grime. They say that in so doing it actually helps strengthen the coating against the elements that might wash it off. On a positive note aside from cleaning grime off my arms and tools, the integrity of the hardware like the undercarriage is sustained.

Now if this ACF 50 stuff lives up to the hype on my Tenere, I might have to consider switching the Titan over to it, too.

my bike is a gen 1 2013 it was 11 months old wheels were bad took pictures and sent the pictures to CRESCENT SUZUKI where the bike was bought, they then agreed to rebuild the wheels put a warranty in yamaha excepted it,
now i was 200 mies way from them did not want to take it back, they agreed to pay for the rebuild when i wanted it done and supply new spokes
i did not want to rebuild with yamaha spokes as i would be in the same boat the following year.

So the spokes they sent me i sold on ebay as i did not want them, , when i wanted the job donei rang CRESCENT uptold te was doing it ad sent the wheels in the post to HAGON SUSPENSION they have a wheel building dept and do there own stainless spokes yamaha paid for the post and rebulid i had sold the yamaha spokes so i had to pay for the stainless whitch i think was about £80 a rim, but wow that was 7 years ago and my wheels bear in mind we are in the UK and i ride all year are stunning the spokes are unmarked,
i also do alot of 2 up riding with luggage and they have been perfect
HAGON SUSPENSION do a really good job with these tenere wheels

rob
This is brilliant, just what I need as my spokes are looking grim. I ride most days so the salt has really impacted, I will contact Hagon.

Behold the magic of Harpic!

^That was less than 10 min after application.

I then hit it with a maroon scotchbrite ... it left mild scratches so I followed with 2 levels of polish for about 5 min then my patience wore out not knowing how long they’d remain silver and what the acf-50 I was going to apply after would do.

If you attempt, rinse thoroughly after 10 min and polish when done and let sit to help passivation of the stainless (whatever that means... it’s been awhile since I googled the science of it). Otherwise it can supposedly tarnish faster next time.*

*My only other experience with Harpic was on headers that sat for several months before use and the bike itself is a garage queen.

I repaint mine from time to time.
I just applied acf-50. Looks wet.. in fact it really knocked down at least the appearance of corrosion on the engine and hardware. Will post a pic when I can. I’ve read it doesn’t do much for the spokes for some reason. I’ll keep this thread posted on my results.

I use more ACF than gas ! . I guess I didn't look after the stand well.

In these photos you can see pretty clearly where the acf-50 was applied/crept to and where it didn’t. I’m impressed!
