Snake what did you get? I have a Honda Ridgeline and it will only pull 5,000 pounds and I want less.

Need something before Romney next year.

A little Wolf Pup 17RP

They come off the assembly line at about 3000-3100 pounds. So tiny (for a toy hauler)
They have a 5500lb axle and can carry about 2500 lbs of cargo.
My KTM is what?...about 250?
Add a Tenere too, and still running pretty light for your tow capacity. Throw a weight distribution hitch on your truck and it'll be a piece of cake. I FLY yanking this thing around.

AOK RV in Missouri sells it for about $4500 less than anyone I could find. There's 4 giant RV dealers in Houston area with them and nobody would touch the price.

I bought this exact one (fully loaded with all options except mosquito screen for ramp door)

http://www.aokrvs.com/default.asp?page=xNewInventoryDetail&id=3282004&p=1&vc=toy hauler&s=Date Added&d=A&t=new&fr=xNewInventory

I then commenced to live in it for 2 1/2 months from their parking lot to I think about 13 states. Drove all over the USA with expired temporary Missouri tags. Nobody cared.
It's like a castle compared to my teardrop. But built RV cheap, as you might know. (My Camp-Inn Tear drop cost MORE used and 9 years old. But it isn't RV quality. It's more boat-builder quality)

I upgraded the hand crank front tongue jack to electric before I left AOK. The kid that swapped it out was a really good kid. He did a very thorough PDI before I took delivery, since I ain't likely to EVER return to Missouri for any warranty stuff. I had ZERO issues those 70 days of dragging it around. That's kind of rare in this industry, believe me.
That's NOT because it is built so well. It is because he really did test everything and make sure all the punch list items that these things come with were addressed.

Zoom in on that window! Oh yea baby. TOY hauler is appropriate.

Karson, hope to see you soon......

Bruce,

You finally upgraded? Way to go slim. I would have bought fro them had I not got the deal I did on my toy. Looks like Mat of 18 Harrison will have a parking lot full of Fords and toys......

Looking forward to that. BTW dad, dont sell my truck.

Guess I'll be the odd guy with a Honda. I'm kinda used to that moniker.

Nice new abode, Bruce.

That Wolf Pup looks perfect and not needing to load the bike into the truck is icing on the cake.

I've always been amazed at how much you've lived out of the tear-drop, especially when you have the towing capability of the F150. And while there's no question that you are the reason I bought my little pop-up camper after seeing yours (seeing the light), I knew right from the start that I wanted something I could stand in. It's 4ft tall in the cap of my truck and even that is mighty short when it's raining out and I gotta pee. Having the toilet and shower would be fantastic.

Curious question: Do you ever smell gas from the bike or have any other smell issues in the trailer? Other than sweat, soggy socks, and burned food obviously. ;)

WreckeChecker, be sure that the Wolf Pup does not sleep any better than the little Camp-Inn teardrop. In fact, I'd argue the "comfort & luxury" of the camp-inn is significantly better. Air Conditioning and heating is instantaneous. And at 5000 btu, it requires very little generator. Queen-size 6" thick memory foam mattress. And the Blu-ray HDTV system is right in your face. And finally, that kitchen on the back is far more equipped and all stainless to boot.

Towing wise, there's no comparison, as you can imagine.

But, you pointed out the one MAJOR benefit to the Wolf Pup......loading\unloading the toys. Being all alone in some remote spot can be a bit dramatic riding up or down the typical steep ramp into a pickup. But the toy hauler? It's a breeze!
And I admit, getting up in the middle of the night to do what an old man must do? Well, not having to put clothes and shoes on and brave the elements is priceless.

Gas fumes? There are 2 adjustable vents for addressing just that issue. But if the toys have been stored for a couple of days of road time, there is a motorcycle workbench ambiance in the air when you step inside. Not a fuel smell, but a garage smell. I rather like it!!

If I'm not setting up camp, but rather just pulling over to get some shuteye, I just step around the bike and get in bed up front. It's kind of cool to have a bed and bath in the garage. My Katoom seems to wink at me when I look over at it from my pillow.

One more nice thing is without bikes in the back of the truck, my cargo stays private under the tonneau cover.

Wow. Already going to AOK to check one out. But looking at a couple others. Glad you like it as it was my choice for weight and $.

On my trip a month ago I stayed at friends at lake of the Ozarks and probably rode by them or within a mile on the way home.

Got home and two days later started looking for toy haulers.

"couple of others"......you have me curious BigBob. The reason is that I'm kind of an RV addict in respect that I live in them, camp in them, and seem to STORE them these days too.
You won't be shocked to hear that I also am a RV forum junky.

Why I'm curious is that even though their may not be another industry that has more choices for the consumer than RV's. Seriously, it's crazy. If you've even dreamed it up on an LSD trip, you'll find out somebody somewhere has done it. For example, there is a teardrop that converts to a small cabin cruiser boat! Really, I'm dead serious. And it's kind of cool too!
But when I decided to look into a tiny-toy-hauler, I only found 1 mass produced. Mass production being key because of budget. I'm still surprised that Forest River has this little niche to thenselves. Anytime Forest River comes up with an original design, Thor will follow suit. And vice versa. (It's like AT&T and Verizon) Between those two behemoths, 90% of all RV's are built. (and the state of Indiana is employed)

Anyways, just curious. The next size up that I'm aware of is 19' and a full normal 8' wide. Not "Big" by toy hauler standards, but no longer a featherweight. 3000lbs empty is freaking awesomeness! Even comes with load D tires rated for 75 mph. An RV in the fast lane! Rare indeed.

They are also heavier. I want something I can follow Steve to and then ride the EASY stuff with.

Maybe Patrick but my last ride with him cost me a season.

I have a Y2k generator. Not sure about air but in Iowa I want heat. This time of year it will run my house.

Put it in the truck and I have power as long As no neighbors. It is a bit loud

I hadn't ever seen that Falcon! So much for my RV knowledge.
That's a bit upscale compared to the Wolf Pup, with the same dry weight claimed. Yea, it is priced more, but you get more polish. If I'd known about it at the time, I'd likely have hitched up to it.
