Hi! I have a 30 pound Boston Terrier. He likes riding in my truck, but now I want to kick it up a notch and tour with him from Long Island up to Maine. Any ideas or tips? I am thinking of putting him on the passenger seat in some sort of vessel where he can be tethered so he’s better sheltered. Wind protection is important as he’s got just one eye and I want to take extra care. I watched a few youtube videos which seem helpful but thought I’d ask here in case anyone wants to share experiences. Thanks!!

I used to have a dog that just sat on the seat behind me and ride. Nothing extra needed. No safety gear for her so I never took her more than 5 miles or so from the house. she loved it though. Years ago I did see a article about a feller road tripping with a black lab. He had a tenere too. He took the back seat off I think and fixed a platform across the side cases and the seat platform. He then mounted a dog kennel to that and put a plexiglass window on the wire door to keep the cold wind out. He also cut a hole in the top so the dog could stick his head out if it wanted too. They had pictures of the rig and looked really nice and secure. I can't remember where I saw that article but one picture was in front of the devils tower in Wyoming if that rings a bell with any one here. Good luck. I would love to take my dogs along but one is too scattered brained and the other just isn't a riding dog. haha.
