Hello there!

I ride a 2014 S10 and currently have the OEM Tall Yamaha windshield. I'm 6' 2" in height, wear a Shoei GT Air and had the stock seat in the LOW position. Things were OK until I just bought a Russell Day-long seat which i about 1 inch (at least) taller than the stock - now am facing serious noise and buffeting above 55 mph. I'm looking to buy a used Touring windshield that has worked well for you and is in an excellent condition. Please let me know what you have and also what you would select if you were in my position. Thank you for your help! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :):)

The tallest VStream might work good for you.
I'm 5’10” and the medium VStream works very well for me on my 2018, the VStream is a couple inches wider than the stock Yamaha shield .
On my previous 2013 I used the tallest VStream and it worked very well but I always wished it was about 1” shorter So I could look over the top just a little easier.
One pretty significant issue for me with the medium sized VStream is its only available in the tinted version, I suppose that really doesn’t matter much to most folks but personally I highly prefer a clear windshield, the tallest VStream is only available in clear.

I use the tall VStream......no noise and no buffeting + excellent fit, finish, and quality. FYI, I am 6’4” and use the stock seat in the high setting/leveled.

Not wishing to hijack this thread but I’ve mounted my garmin in the crossbar of my OEM screen bracket. It fits fine but it covers up the indicators lights on the dash. I like the position there but is there an option to fit it slightly higher? 2017.

I tried a Laminar lip out. I just couldn't handle looking at it. I like to look just over my shield and keep my visor up. At 6"3" a Madstad bracket and a 22" shield hit the spot for me. I run it all the way forward and up. Unless it's hot. Then I go all the way down and lean it back. Never heard of anybody complain about a Madstad bracket regardless of the shield it had on it.

I am 6'2"and use an adjustable bracket with a MRA screen that has an adjustable spoiler on top. made a world of difference for me and I easily see over screen . as far as used , if some one is parting out a bike you might find one , check out twisted throttle and their price for a new MRA might fit your budget. the adjustable bracket (madstad ) is pretty important to make it all work .also the Yamaha winglets are pretty good at controlling air and I find essential.

I also have the Madstad bracket with the 22" shield and OEM wind deflectors. The Madstad has a larger and more robust cross bar for mounting electronics and more adjustment range for the shield. On the hottest days of summer, in ten minutes I swap out the 22" shield for the OEM and enjoy a little extra air flow.20180729_133241.jpg

Well, I ordered the Touring VStream and RevZilla delivered it yesterday... I installed it in the highest position and had a quick test run until around 65 or 70 mph and it seemed OK. Then went for a 500 mile ride today.... with speeds (let's say) beyond 80 mph... MASSIVE buffeting and had a very tough day riding with this shield... I wear ear plugs too, all the time.
I was hoping I hit the jackpot, but it is not the case. I will try installing it one or two notches lower, but just wanted to share my real life riding experience today with this shield.

My Zumo 595 is a little over 2 years old and it quit charging the battery so I called Garmin and they sent me a new battery for FREE, well the new battery worked for about a month then that one quit charging, so I called Garmin again and they sent me another free battery but it wouldn't charge that battery at all, the next day the Zumo completely quit working, now Garmin wants me to pay $160 + my old Zumo to get a refurbished Zumo with a 90 day warranty. If I do wind up buying another one I’m going to look into buying some kind of free replacement warranty https://www.squaretrade.com/all-plans
my opinion that Touratech Mount is way to expensive but I do have a couple of friends that use them and claim they like them.
