I have a Zumo 395 in a TT locking mount which is not that stable on the standard accessory mount and is even worse when when a RAM mount is used to clear the indicator repeaters. The locking mount mounts across the gps centre line.
I still have the the MRA screen from my Gen 1 bike so I'm thinking of a TT bracket using the MRA. Anyone done anything similar?
I know the Mastad bracket is the flavour at the moment but it looks to mount the the gps low possibly obscuring the indicator repeaters.
The extra benefit of using the gen 1 set up is I can reuse the old winglets.

If you take off all the screen hardware (stock adjuster) from the bike, you'll be left with the two screen legs that are identical to the GEN 1, at the stage all screens and and adjusters (Madstad, Touratech,, etc) from Gen 1 will now fit the GEN 2.

As you say, the basic windshield mounts are identical, but the instrument cluster is a little wider on the Gen 2 model, so if you don't manually "spread" the Madstad bracket apart it will not fit without interfering. I only have experience with the Madstad bracket so I cannot speak for the others.
