Bought a Touratech Garmin Zumo XT lockable mount, I want to mount it straight onto my Madstad bracket cross bar but the supplied U clamp is too small. Has anyone found a bigger U clamp that will fit that size bar? It fits the original OE Yamaha bracket but the Madstad is beefier. 4059EC84-8DF6-4BE3-B915-B468D746304F.jpeg12A1B4B9-49FA-4432-B585-7E66AD051BE9.jpeg9CB95FB6-82F4-44EB-A3E6-55188041CEFB.jpeg

just out of curiosity, doesn't it shake a lot being mounted up there?
Actually no, thats the standard Zumo mount that comes with the unit in the pic but it sits up too high for me. Cant vouch for rough roads with it as i've only had it a few days.

In the end i bought one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124506736106 will report back on the install. It suited me as its low mounted straight onto the bar and looks well finished. I also have a devious plan to invert the mounting screws so that there is no way the whole assembly can be taken off the bar with a spanner. We will see if thats possible.

Yes, Madstad sells a crossbar that has a smaller diameter just for this application. The diagonal supports make the GPS pretty solid. You could have your crossbar turned down.

When I mounted my XT with that mount, the GPS completely covered the indicator lights on the top of my dash, so I could not see if I had left my indicators turned on or not. I had to make an extension to raise the gps a bit, so I can see the indicator lights on the dash. I have a 2016 model ES Tenere. Just something to be aware of.
