Mitas E07 not the Dakar version. Pressures, F-33, R-36. Got 18,500 km before replacing. 95% Asphalt. The pic is those same Mitas on Tail of the Dragon US129 scraping the peg feeler on a couple of switchbacks back in 2017 on my 2012 SuperT. The Mitas were quiet as in there was no vibrations in the handlebars at low speed ( coming to a stop or taking off). I wear plugs ( -33 dB ) so do not hear much inside my Arai Helmet. Took the Heidenau T60‘s off after about 10,000 km. They were noisy ( vibration felt in the bars all the way from stop to about 20 kph) and were squaring off on the rear. The Mitas were priced right delivered to my door but recommend buying 2 pairs at a time if you live in Canada. They were only available from MX-1 Canada at the time.19AFDB9B-7E91-4578-9070-F44A4C0147BA.jpeg

Yes, it's what I'm currently running.
Being narrower it was slightly tricky to get seated on both sides, but I used a thin film of hand-soap and it seated fine.
I combined it with a 140/80-17 rear.
The factory speedometer with these sizes (according to my GPS) is right on the money. Speed matches exactly at all speeds.

Turn-in seems quicker, but that might just be because I have brand new tires on it. The bike seems very flickable.............................and I CAN tell you, these sizes of E07-Dakar work very well in the snow

Love those gold wheels!
I purchased the 100/90/19 Dunlop Trailmax Mission front.
No trouble putting it on with hand tools only

Sweet shot, man! Q: Are these the Mitas E07, not Dakar, not Plus, but original E07? Thinking of getting a set. Thanks

can I ask, if you are riding 95% asphalt why are you not using a more road bias or even a full road tyre? I'm running full roads but still do dirt shingle backroads with ease....

Michelin Anakee are 80% asphalt 20% off road, those could be a perfect match.

So where do you compromise?
I‘ve read that you compromise on your weakness. I’m decent off road, but better on asphalt, so I run a dirt biased tire to even things out.
Currently running Shinko 705 rear and Dunlop TM Mission front. Totally different bike off road, very confidence inspiring. I’ve ridden off road with a bald 80/20 tire no problem, yet I appreciate the extra grip of my current setup. So far 10k miles on the front and five on the rear. Hammering California twisties had taken it’s toll on the sides of my front Dunlop, but with the engine braking, the center is fine. Prolly put a Mission on the rear next just to see how it goes.
Only reason to switch is better milage, but I probably can’t complain with what I’m getting.

I used the search function and scrolled through this thread, I could have missed it, but looking for any experience fitting a 170/60x17 rear tire?

Earlier this week whilst out on the road I managed to evaporate the remaining tread on my Anakee Adventure rear tire. Calling around I was only able to find a 160/60 or a 170/60 replacement. The 170/60 will give me a 105.6 mm side wall height, same as the OEM 150/70 of 105mm. The 160/60 is too short at 96mm.

I figured the 160/60 would clear the brake stay arm so chose that one. I notice it throws the speedometer off another 1-2 MPH. Im seeing a discrepancy (vs. GPS) of 3-4 MPH, vs. 1-2 MPH with the OEM 150/70 tire.

If I was confident the tire would clear the brake stay arm, I’d have chosen the 170/60 size. For future reference it’d be good to know if I could fit that size in a pinch like this where the OEM size wasn’t available.

I'm not seeing a list of sizes or any list on page 9. Search is not helping me at all

I'm looking to get a pair of TMM in Oaxaca. They only have the front in the 100/90-19.

Anyone had any issues with the smaller tire? Is it wide enough to fill the rim well?

I sure don’t know why but it seems very common for the rear TrailMax Mission Tire to be out of stock, I try to buy way ahead of time so i have the tires in stock when needed.
I believe front is 110/80-19
rear is 150/70-17

Seems like it was done w/o issue by @Niterunnr earlier in this thread. If that's what you can find, go for it.

Helped Panman install a (mis-ordered) 100/90 on his Tenere recently. Works, looks and fits fine and he reports little change in handling. I wouldn't hesitate to use one if it's all that's available.
