Had the bike fall off the lift after my attempts to tie it without hurting the grips , tank, or shrouds. Nothing workied.
So I put some eye-bolts(stainless) on the motor plate. They work amazingly!
The plate is a little non symmetrical so I pick the spots based on interference points and locktite'd them tightly in place.
They worked good in the last 3600 miles towed between east coast Ozarks Tennessee and Florida then back to Delaware. THe worst was when I left Ohio and ran 110 miles at least of the worst roads (or lets say randomly spaced scrap sidewalk) I have ever seen. No excuse Indiana. My KTM came loose and beat up the Tenere a little but just minor tank dings. Just figured I'd share since it changed my life. ......Carry on

Well if it works it works. Less is more. I asked a tow truck driver the proper way. He pointed out how he does it and said he never had a problem. Thread the ratchet straps around the axils threw the forks. Same for the rear.

this comes closest to what he showed me. Go low and use the axles.

Buy a Condor Chock and some E-track and then no worries. Attached by the rear sets and come forward and down at about a 45° angle. Bikes may wobble but never fall down! Most secure system. I also buy some short straps with loops on either end and put that on the bike looped onto itself a d Attach the wratchet strap. If being super duper safe then do it around the triple clamp too.
That is thinking outside the box. My only question would be... how do you ensure that those engine mount bolts are torqued to ~54#
