How many of you have replaced your throttle tube with a "G2 throttle Tamer" or equivalent for smoother throttle response . Did it work and get rid of the dreaded "FFI throttle snatch"?

I have one on the ST1300 and it did help.

For the S10 - I just don't see the need - I will put it in Touring mode for my city and stop/go riding and it actually works much better than everything I've done to the ST1300 in comparison... Yes, the Sport mode has some throttle snatch but not bad and it's nice to 'turn it off' using the T mode.

Okay, I didn't do that, there's enough power in the bike for me to get in enough trouble without adding more.. LOL

The tamer might help... but not sure since this is a throttle by wire setup so I just don't have any knowledge there, sorry.

You wanted more, you got more, now you want to 'tame' it? I too will stay with the stock set-up. The difference between the two is plenty. How about making your clutch switch mod switchable on/off? You have the mod, do things change when you switch between the two? It obviously won't be the oem 'T' and 'S', but it should still change.

We'll see, I ordered a Throttle Tamer today, it's designed just for this type of condition. If nothing else I'll get a quality throttle tube out of the deal. Until it arrives just for kicks, I might pull the fuse to see if I can tell the differance; I've had it in there almost since the bike was new so I don't remember what "T" feels like anymore.

I put a Tamer on my 2006 Yamaha FZ6, which is about as light-switch a throttle as I’ve ever had on a motorcycle. Here’s a link to my installation and review on my blog…CLICK. It might be helpful.

The Tamer made quite a bit of difference on the Fazer, mostly positive. If it operates like the Fazer, you’re going to notice the longer turn as you roll on the throttle. A couple points on the installation, that are in the blog, but important I think. First, while the tube I got was supposedly FZ6-specific, I had to cut about a quarter inch off the end of the tube to get it to fit, so check that on your S10 install. Second, the post-installation throttle free-play was way out of spec…too high and twice what it was with the stock tube. I adjusted it back to spec, but continued to tinker with the free-play for some time until I got it where I like it. I think my blog says its back in spec, but I’m currently running it near zero free-play which seems to mitigate that longer turn a little.

Good luck! I don’t see the need for a Tamer on my Tenere, but I really look forward to your report on the installation and operation.

Clutch mod acts like 3rd map . Touring and sport doesn't work when clutch switch is activated .

One situation where I feel a TT would help is this:

Approaching a corner/turn from 6th gear I often downshift into 3rd gear for the turn. So approach in 6th, throttle off, downshift into third, initiate the turn and then start to roll the throttle back on. This is where the EFI's response can be too abrupt as it fuels the motor. It's almost like going through corners in MX where I end up holding the throttle steady & feed in the clutch, because to apply throttle with the clutch fully engaged is just to responsive for a smooth drive through the corner. Going from "throttle off" to "throttle on" can be a delicate task in the lower gears. And that's on tarmac, imagine the entertainment value of this condition off road. ::017::
