just saw this..... seems to say a lot

"The ride was 51,833 km's or 32,395 miles and did take me through 17 country's during 170 days and the tires have 29,996 km's (18,747 mi) on them and are still in one piece with zero flats (go Mitas). ''

looks like the + will not ever get an endorsement like this! I see most reporting 6000 miles, that means 4,000 for me.

Put an E-07+ rear on a few weeks back and after around 600km am already concerned about life. Wear is visible already. It did have a bit of a hard time yesterday on some really hard packed and corrugated gravel. I'm heading down South next week for a 2,000km endurance event and worried...

Missing the Dakar variant and really hope I'm wrong about the +.

I just had a set of E-07 Dakar's put on and went for a 50 mile ride to scrub them in. These are the first set of tires since the stock Bridgestones have squared off and cracked (dry rot) at 6,500 miles.

My first impression is wow, these things grip! Even on a cool, 50 degree day with un-scrubbed tires leaning into turns takes much more effort and I could kind of feel the sides of the treads biting the road. Going upright on the highway makes the bike feel like it is on rails.

I was originally thinking these tires were going to be too off road oriented and I wasn't sure how much I was going to like them. As long as nothing really changes, I am going to be very happy with these! I am already considering buying another E-07 Dakar rear now, just to have on hand.

Just checked mine for wear...........I'm headed to Arizona in a week and wanted to see where I'm at.

Front E07 Dakar measures 6.3mm of tread to the center wear-strip when new
Rear E07+Dakar measures 11mm of tread in the center when new.
(I just measured a brand-new set at Performance Cycle today)

I currently have 2,027-miles on my set.
I have ridden about 90%-pavement, and 10%-dirt.

Front measures 5mm to the center wear-strip.
Rear measures 8mm of tread left in the center.

If I gauge off of my current wear, I can expect another 7,700-miles out of the front, and 5,400-miles out of the rear before they are bald..........

Last night I finally removed the E-07 rear off the 2012.
15,922 miles.
I have the new E-07 plus on the 2017 but haven't tested it out much yet.
I really think Mitas made a mistake dropping the E-07 Dakar.
Agreed! I’m just finding out today that the rear E07 isn’t available at any of my usual retailers - apparently for good reason as they appear to be discontinued. Especially sucks hard as I have a brand new E07 front ready to install with no matching rear available.

I doubt you'll have any issues running the old style E07 front with the new E07+ rear.

My normal setup is a K60 front with either a E07 (either style) rear or when doing more road riding an AnakeeIII rear. Works fine. I've mixed different front & rear tires on dualsports for years, never had an issue.

I did a grueling 10,000km trip last year, tires went very well on road gravel mud and sand, would say they had about 2000kn left in them, but I'm hard on tires (TC and abs always off) I replace them because the were causing a few vibrations though the handle bars, next time I do a trip like that ill go for Anakee wild on the front and a E-07 on the rear

I've got a worn down E07 front that I think is giving me some occasional head shake. I can take my hands off the bars and decelerate and get a scary headshake at about 35 mph. Doesn't do it everytime.

after 10,000km there was heaps of tread left on the front tire, but I got a flat on it so I turfed it and put the road tires back on for that nice smooth ride, my wrists are too worn out for all those vibes .
