Just because I have the enginerd gene and used to ride long distance a lot I once plotted a curve that showed how mpg decreased with speed. Getting above about 45 mph it showed our bikes have the aerodynamics of a brick which was not much of a surprise.FWIW:
Steady 55mph, with a 10mph tailwind = 70+mpg.
Steady 60mph, same wind = 65+mpg.
Both are indicated mpg, which is relatively accurate over time/distance.

Years ago, I was surprised to learn that in general, motorcycles have poor aerodynamics/cd. Something to do with being too short for the air to wrap around correctly. But, yeah, a Tenere is definitely not aerodynamic; especially with the boxes mounted.. . . .
