Bimota, those are great photos of your Lancaster ride. I actually went for a one hour flight in the only other flying Lancaster in the world.AA28A8E3-F96D-435C-9F8A-244EB72287E2.jpeg
I stood directly behind the pilot while flying over Hamilton, Ontario.7E010932-EFA2-4EC5-AC44-4A6E15C007A6.jpeg
and looking forward from the top turret, man those Merlins were loud!17CE1CB6-7FA3-4074-AAA4-4528F9BF5FCB.jpeg

omg,
i thought my taxi ride with the engines running was special but wow to fly in one that must of cost a fortune, saying that if the just jane one i went in had her air ticket i,d of paid up, the one i was in has not got a air tkt pass she,s being worked on by a family to get her up, they do events and taxi runs to carry out the work on her. there hoping she,ll be the 3rd one that can fly
she's not the one that flys with the BBMF

Great video of the Merlins coming to life! C GVRA flew to UK in 2014 to fly with the BBMF, that must have been a sight....... and sound! The Canadian plane never actually saw action, being completed after the war ended. It served Search and Rescue from Newfoundland for several years then became too expensive to operate and retired onto a pedestal in my home town. I do believe it has Allison engines being Canadian built, where the UK versions had RR.
