Got a place nearby to park a alum tent. I was wondering the same as I didn't see any mention on the Hubs site. I know call me a poser or whatever but there is not enough room on the bike for the wife, me and the dog. I will have to do the PU camper and trailer thing.

1193 miles to Ouray. Exactly 600 (not 599 or 601) to Harrison.

Barely a Jaunt to get there. :)

So a set of Big Blocks will get you there and back?

Yes! They would!

But, I gotta ride while I'm there too. And thus my dilemma. :)

No fret. I'll ether haul em or stage em. I'm NOT neutering my dirt bike.

Rather do twisties on a knobby than do dirt on a 80\20. Slowing down a bit on tarmac is still fun. But fighting this Big Pig off-road and trying to get it to hook up wears me out.

I will be unable to make it as the dates conflict with a family vacation :-(
I will have to settle for drooling at everyone's pictures.
Have fun!!,

stayed at the hub this past june you will not find a more bike friendly host cant remember what kind of camper hookups spots available but there is plenty of parking lot available not that anyone would need one but there is a yamaha dealer in harrison 15 miles or so away from the hub by far my favorite riding destination.mostly light traffic good pavement and many dirt road options

Re: 2014 Super Tenere Arkansas Rally

Was planning on attending this, but with the date set for end of October, it's probably a no-go for me. It's not too unusual to have blizzards in early October up here (N. Dakota), and even that early in the season, ice can linger on the roads for days or weeks, so probably can't risk getting stuck somewhere either coming or going. Hope the 2015 rally is closer to summer or earlier in the fall for us folks who live up North, maybe something to keep in mind for the event planners. I really do need to move away from the arctic circle.

I'm in the same boat as you Scooby little late in the season for this northern boy. Made the one in Whitehorse and last years in Colarado little disappointed it's this late.

Re: 2014 Super Tenere Arkansas Rally

Looking at a few options as to getting to Arkansas in Oct. from B.C.
Considering a west coast ride south (weather permitting) till warmer weather, then head east. Or possibly trailering the bikes to a warmer spot and riding from there ::).
A fairly direct route if the northern passes are open is about 4000 km. The route directly south then east would add a bit more to that.
Will look at all the options with regards to the shorter days and colder weather leaving here that time of year.
In the mean time will start shopping for DS tires with the snowflake symbol on the sidewall. :D

Won't be the same without you friends from the north. :(

Hey Limey, can you try BWC's strategy?

I'm thinking about tossing it in the truck. So it's just a maybe right now and that time of the year is when I work the outages at the local nuke plant.
