i fitted ohlins 3 yrs ago, its brilliant, but you have to make sure you have the right spring with it or it,ll be shit, it comes standard with a 130 spring
i ended up having it with a 170 spring, once we worked weights out with passenger and luggage etc003.jpg

Ohlins are amazing coming from stock suspension. A friend who is very knowlegable about bike set up went with TFX and he brags on it any time he can. His rational was that Ohlins are better for track and TFX is better for the real world. He supports that theory by the fact that TFX is so widely used in the British roadracing series where they race on public roads such as Isle of Mann

In your shoes, I’d go Ohlins. A good supplier will take your weight and riding style into account when building the unit.

Do I need to purchase a separate spring or is it included in the price
bought my ohlins from P&H MOTORCYCLES LTD they were at the time the only uk supplier doing it with 9 months interest free credit, so i used them didn,t miss the money going out over 9 months as much as up front,
i was pissed off as they told me the shock comes direct from ohlins with a 130 spring, if i needed a bigger spring i would have to buy the other spring, but they let me have it for £50, what they did then was when the shock got to them they took the 130 off and put it in the box fitted the 170 spring and sent the box out so it was ready to go

Hi Folks,
I’ve done some research on suspension,I was caught between TFX and Ohlins,I’ve decided to go with TFX suspension,
It’s has more adjustability.
High&low speed damping.
Manual preload adjuster has 15mm travel.
Review are very positive.
5 year guarantee.
No buying extra spring if your over the recommended weight (Ohlins comes with 130spring).
Product looks top quality.
I’ll keep you posted
