I'm not saying you did the wrong thing when you stopped her from walking into traffic, but now she's out there in a car texting away. Good luck. (Kidding of course (sort of)) ;)

I agree I see this way too much. We've seen the people that walk into a fountain at the mall and we get a laugh out of that. But I see people walking across a busy intersection looking at their phone all the time. Some even while pushing their kids in strollers.
It will be the next law cause people are too stupid to think for themselves in this "nanny state".

My pet peev are texters while walking, especially in busy pedestrian areas. I'll play devil's advocate, I see it like this, if you are too pre-occupied by who's looking at your farcebook page, then you deserve what you get when out in the public domain, be it falling over, hitting a lamp post or getting splattered by a bus, Darwin. You have it coming to you. We I ride my bike (as probably all of you too) I'm all too aware of my vulnerability and so am on constant alert mode, why as a pedestrian should you not take the same precaution, unless you are out in a field, then watch out for fire ants.

I was making a left hand turn and saw this man, looking at his phone, just walking against the light coming into the intersection. I stopped about three feet in front of him. If I had hit him, with my pickup truck, I would have probably killed him. I honked the horn and he then looked up and saw me stopped directly in front of him. He then just "flipped me the finger" and walked around my truck...as cars were honking at him.
This cell phone stuff is getting worse by the day. All of this terrifies me a lot.
