Why is it that I go to the local bike hangout, the "Rock Store" and the "Rock Inn" in Southern California and I never see Tenere's? I have been going there and while I see Beemers, Ducks, and other adventure bikes, it is very rare to see a S10, other than my own. Where are the rest of you guys, they serve even yamaha riders. Just asking. ::021:: ::021::

Frequent the rock inn but usually around 11:00 am to miss the crowds on the weekends. Or go during the week. Rarely go to the rock store even though it's close. Somehow I end up at the Pistachio Farm in Ventucopa going to or from somewhere. Nothing there but pistachios, shade and a general store.

I'm generally at the rock store at 830 or the rock inn by 930, so I can get a few miles in before doing my assigned chores (honey do list). Still has to be more of these things out there. I'll keep looking. ::021::

For me it's cause I like to keep riding. Hard to stop cause it's too much fun. ;D
I go to the Rock Inn sometimes for breakfast on the weekends. Have no desire to go to the Rock Store and listen to the Harley riders talk about how shiny their chrome is and show off their new Harley Tshirt.
I go thru Ventucopa quite often. Nice loop from where I live in Frazier Park. Past Pine Mountain Club to the 166. Then the 33 to Lockwood Valley road. 90 miles with about 80% of it twisties. There's also 2 nice restaurants in New Cuyama just up the road. Well one restaurant and a good burger joint.
Nice rides if I'm just going for a short trip by myself.
I almost saw a Tenere last weekend in Flagstaff. Noticed the OEM panniers at the last minute didn't even see the color of the bike.
If you're out this way, I'm on a white one. ::26::

I used to live in Pine Mountain, nice area. I occasionally run the 33 to Santa Maria and back from Thousand Oaks. As to the Harleys at the Rock store, if you get there between 8 and 10, it generally GS's and older guys on sports bikes. I have actually been going there since the late 70's. Not quite as busy as it used to be. ::021::

Ok then you're familiar with this area. Pine Mountain has become a big place for bikes to gather now. I live in Pinon Pines and have a nice view of the main road and on the weekend the bikes going by are pretty constant.
I haven't been to the Rock Store since the 80's.
I had a Kawasaki 900 don't remember the year but it was before the Ninja years. It was pretty much the fastest production bike of it's day and got lots of challenges to race.
Thankfully stopped going as now I've lived long enough to putt on my Tenere.
Guess I'll have to check it out again. As long as I don't have to wear one of my brother's Harley shirts to fit it. :D

My ride at that time was a 1978 GS 750E Suzuki, with BMW short bars and a quarter fairing. Ah the good old days. But I agree the S-10 is the perfect ride for me now. ::021::
