Hello Everyone,

I am looking to lower the seat from the lowest stock on my 2022 Yamaha Tenere 1200. Currently the lowest seat height is still slightly tall for me. I live in the US but am willing to shop around. The one I saw on revzilla is out of stock, and has been for a while.
Revzilla:

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Call Mean City Cycles in NC. They do seat modifications & they are amazing. They can probably get you exactly what you want by customizing your seat. I've had experience with them in the past & the service was fantastic.

Also low seats are usually just less foam. As suggested above may be better to get a better foam and shape to suit.

Most ST stuff shown as out of stock will never be replenished as MamaYama seems to be thinning her herd. Check out your options carefully. I briefly had a Touratech that felt great riding, but was a challenge for my 30" inseam to get more than toes down (dicey on other than smooth, clean pavement). I found the problem to be that although the seat pan was lower, the width at the front was greater and more than cancelled out the seat height difference. Right now I'm on a Corbin which seems to work, although some find the Corbin to be a bit firm (or at least at first). Question - have you tried the leveling trick on your OEM seat? If not familiar, you can search for it in this Forum. That has helped a lot of people avoid the expense of an aftermarket seat, but doesn't work for all. Good luck and welcome to the group.

I appreciate the feedback. If I decide to go down the custom route I will give them a shout. Thank you!

Which seat do you have? Let me try the hack with the original seat and I'll keep ypu posted.
Let me know what seat you have and what you are asking for or what you paid. I want to be fair to you as well.

The few comments I've seen on the OEM low seat are mostly that it is a bit too firm for many because it is lower because of less padding (which one would expect). Some folk feel the same way about a Corbin, but I've been quite happy with mine after a bit of break-in time. With regards to seats, everyone is different and one has to accept the trade-offs.
