I like them and will probably get them... However, I do have a couple of questions I hope you guys can help me out with before I seal the deal.

1. Why do some appear more gray in color while others appear very black? I'm thinking due to background and/or fading, but perhaps each batch have their own shade. I got the matte grey tenere and I need it to be/stay very black for it to look good and not blend in with the gray.

2. If you happen to have a pic of a matte gray tenere with these on it please post it in here or message me. It would really help me out!

Thanks a bunch guys

Never seen Grey ones. Mine are black and have not faded at all. Only problem I have is the same as many others. The pad has peeled away at the bend in the tank. I'm not sure but they may have changed the thickness of the material to fix the problem.

Good news, but now I'm worried about it peeling away. How big of an issue is it? I'm a stickler for what I put on my bike and don't want anything that's going to look half-ass'd down the road.

one of mine peeled at the curve and the other didn't. bummer was that i didn't notice and every dirt/offroad ride got grit stuck to the tank pad. asked techspec about it and they gave the impression that it was an installation issue. techspec was willing to sell me just one pad for $20. i haven't taken them up on the offer because i started to see the same thing happen to alot of other owners. not sure i'll buy another if the same thing will happen. hoping techspec will stand behind the product but haven't heard anything yet?

Mine let go on the bottom so sticks out instead of going into the tank crease. This allowed dirt to get up in there. But good news as Robbie at Tech-Spec was right on this and we emailed today. Those guys are top notch with service and that's what gets my business.

See I treat mine as consumables .... that's why I bought sheets of it. I cut it to the shapes I need and want and slap em on everything. I have them on the tank as stripes. Strips across the tank of the ZX6R to stop the magnetic tank bag from rubbing. On the XT's panniers ... just trimmed some up for the CF heel guards on my kwak. The stuff is superb. I even use it on my M4 and other various bits of mil kit. ::008::

I just installed my new Techspec "snake skin" tank grips and it looks great. However... about an inch of the bottom right portion of the adhesive strip was already separated from the rubber directly out of the packaging. I was hoping once I put it on it would reattach itself, but no luck. Now the corner part "flaps" a little if I gently pull on it. It's not noticeable at the moment but I'm sure over time it will get worse to the point I need to replace it unless I somehow reseal the rubber to the adhesive strip, that is securely attached to my bike. Is there an adhesive out there that I can apply between the rubber and the adhesive strip that will stay in place and not damage my paint job? I am also contacting Techspec so see what they recommend or if they will replace that one pad. Again, the tank grips look great and the center and right pads are on lock-tight, it's just a shame this seems to happen.

My Snake Skin wouldn't stay stuck either. After Tech Spec sent me a 2nd set because the 1st one was a "bad batch", the 2nd one wouldn't stay stuck either. I have had these on every bike I have ever owned, 8 total or so. I have never had a problem like this. Finally Tech Spec told me to use 3M rubber spray adhesive. While that worked, it did add $15 to the cost for me to get it.

Bought tank pads from Aliexpress. Comes with what looks like 2 sided tape. Only the white side peels away too expose a sticky glued20220606_122219.jpg surface. Doesn't seem to be a peelable surface on the red side.
Anyone?
