When I was in the Navy, railings were often wrapped in rope/twine. I've never seen the practice anywhere else. It should work, I guess, as long as it is wrapped tight and can't separate. Inexpensive and easy to replace protection. Just time intensive to apply. ::008::

Scariest moment I ever had with a Tenere was following Spklbuk through a stream crossing. I thought his way looked a little rough so I went to the left a little. Had a bow wave wash over the panel and and disappear before reaching the forks. Just kept saying to myself, "just keep running, just keep running..." and it did. Scared the *%$! of out of me.
