Hello and Happy New Year to you all!

I’m actually located just outside of Tampa, Florida in a little burb called Temple Terrace. I ordered my Super Ténéré just last week (Impact Blue) from Barney’s Brandon Yamaha-Suzuki-Kawasaki. It’ll be the fourth bike that I bought from my good friends at Barneys, although they were still squawking about me buying an XR1200 from the Harley Dealer right across the street back in 2009.

51yo (52 when the Super10 shows up), biz owner. I’ve been riding motorcycles for 40 of those years, both on and off road. It seems like I’ve been touring in the last two years more than ever. I restore vintage dirt bikes as a hobby…currently working on a 74 Aermacchi SR100 Baja that I picked up in an eBay auction from up in the Atlanta area. I also do a lot of four-wheelin’ with my local Jeep Club (have a 04 Wrangler X).

Anyway, it was kind of tough choosing a motorcycle sight unseen. Yeah, I did a ton of research on various models and my longtime yamy dealer was a big help, including hooking me up with some other guys that are on the list. Then I got this month’s AMA Magazine (perhaps you saw it) they did brief reviews of a bunch of different models, including the Super10. For each bike, they asked the question “What’s it for?” The answer for the Ténéré was, "Seeing the World." Yeah, I could do that. 8)

See you around the board…

Hi and welcome, Twitch,

We have a couple things in common, as I have a S10 on order and my hobby is restoring vintage dirt bikes. My passion is Bultacos, though, I restore and race them in AHRMA.

After I get it run in, I’m riding it out west this summer. I have a friends in Nevada and surrounding that do a lot of dual-sporting and it'll offer up some terrain we don’t have down here in Flatistan. Lots of stuff to see and do along the way, too.

As for the dirt bikes photos, haven't tried to figure how to post photos in here yet. But I hyperlinked my website, which is the little globe under my avatar. It’s just something that came free with my Verizon Fios subscription, but I use it to post pictures of my toyz. Most everything is in there, including stuff I've since sold.

Hey Fred. I restored and then turned around and sold a Pursang Model 68 a couple years ago; last of the boat tails iirc. I’m a long time AHRMA member, except they don’t do much down here in Florida. Haven’t raced mx since I was a kid, but I thought I’d start racing in the old-timers classes, but that hasn’t happened…yet. When I get around to that it’ll be on a 73 Elsinore that I have.

Hey, I did ride up to the AHRMA Vintage Fest at Barber (near Birmingham) last October. That was an awesome three days! I was also up at Mid-Ohio last summer for the AMA Vintage Days. That was pretty cool too…saw Malcolm Smith. :)

Thanks. I might follow up with you on that. There’s supposed to be a 125cc upgrade for it that I might want to do. Even though it was near basket-case status when I got it, so far all I’ve had to do to get it running was rebuild mag and carb...then I cleaned it up with the beadblaster. It has this real weird sized Dellorto on it. I was able to find parts for that from a scooter parts store in England. I got the mag parts from guys on the Yahoo! Aermacchi Group.

That is cool, Twitch. I have been in the oldtimers classes for some time. The 43 in fredz43 is for the year of my birth. I was also at the Barber's Vintage Festival in October this year and raced my 1974 Pursang model 121 in MX. I have been doing mostly cross country the last few years on my 78 Frontera 370 model 215. I raced it at the AHRMA national in Gainesville a couple times. That is me on that bike in my avatar. Hope to see you at some vintage events. We can get together and talk about our Super Ten's!

Hey Clem. I’ve spoke with a couple on the list from over here. We should get all the west-central guys together once we all take delivery.

Hi Twitch! I'm just over in St. Pete. We've got a few FL riders here, for sure.
