I'm considering a switch from AT&T to T Mobile for cell phone use. Prime reason is to cut my month bill down. We use 4G Smart phones, we don't stream on the phone and mostly use less than 2 Gb a month. We do travel, so that can be an issue with any carrier. I'm not really worried about international experiences, but just US customers and your experience in the US with T Mobile.

Tell me what you like, didn't/don't like and if you changed to T Mobile, then went back to your previous carrier, I'd love to hear why.

Thanks!

I am not sure what it may be like now, so I didn't cast a vote.
I had T-mobile some years back when I lived in Phoenix. (from 2002 to around 2004-2005)
Their coverage, and their signal strength was absolutely horrible back then.
I traveled across the country a few times during the time I was using their service from coast to coast, and it was similar experience everywhere I went.
I used to get the most frustrated with dropped-calls right in the middle of a conversation (and I wasn't even moving around)
I was with them for about 2 years, and then I had enough and ditched them for Verizon.
Have been super happy with signal and coverage ever since.

I did not have much experience with their customer-service, so I can't really comment on that.
They must have gotten better with their cell service since then (they are still in business after all) so my experience may not be an issue any more?

T-Mobile has no coverage where I live so it’s not an option for me, AT&T doesn’t work in my house so I’m pretty much stuck with Verizon.
Have made 3 trips to Alaska and paid extra for Verizon coverage in Canada but it hardly worked anywhere, I complained all three times and Verizon refunded my money. But that was before I had a smartphone and Verizon claims a smartphone will work much better up there.
A friend with T-Mobile was along on all three trips through Canada and his phone worked excellent up there, but when we travel around the USA there are always more places with no T-Mobile coverage.
Quite a few folks around here have switched to Consumer Cellular and claim the coverage is just as good as Verizon for about half the price.

Karen stayed on VZ when I moved to T-Mobile for international use on the boat for after I retired and a half year later COVID hit killing those plans. It's a little less expensive than Verizon and there are times when she gets better service than I do but not often. I've occasionally toyed with going back but the difference in service hasn't been worth the hassle of being back with the big company.

For work, covering rural areas, I have contracts with both T-Mobile and US Cellular.
T-Mobile and USC compliment each other for acceptable coverage in my rural areas. In metro areas, both will work fine but not as reliably or as well as Verizon (though Verizon was unsatisfactory for rural).
I had voted "good customer service" (I get great CS from T-M) but changed to N/A as customer service quality often takes a nosedive for consumer users of any carrier.
My experiences are primarily regional (Appalachian / southwestern Virginia) and, secondarily, east coast.
If you are not streaming video, gaming, etc., I would just shop by cost.
