Does anyone have a Super Tenere thermostat 3LD 12410 00 to sell? [new old stock preferred].
Apparently Yamaha no longer make them.
OR Does anyone know if another thermostat is a viable substitute?
Thanks

In looking for the same thing on the 1200 (which are back ordered everywhere, except for Japan, who won't ship], I found that on the 750´s, the thermostat from a 1997+ Daewoo Tico is the same size.

I ended up buying a used one...

From what I have been seeing buying basic Yamaha parts sure ain’t easy and unless I start hearing Yamaha has done something to fix that issue no more Yamaha stuff for me. A few years ago I spent a week in a motel waiting for a basic set of wheel bearings that was not even available from Yamaha so I had to order them from All Balls. I have NEVER had any trouble getting a Honda part.

Hi RogerRZ. Thanks for your input. I found one on ebay and I've messaged the guy with vehicle details to confirm. So far so good. :)

So far, no better luck. I ordered the thermostat for a Daewoo Tico 1997+, as suggested, but it's far too big and obviously the wrong part....so it's going back.
Once again, does anyone know where I might find an acceptable replacement/substitute for the thermostat 3LD 12410 00 on my 1991 Yamaha XTZ750 Super Tenere?
Cheers Steve

:D Persistence works. I have found the thermostat for my 1991 XTZ750 through WEMOTO, based in West Sussex.
The numbers match [12410-00] though the prefix varies, but comparing them in the hand I'm confident it's the right one.
Thanks again to the guys who tried to help, but they were off the mark.

You know the bike will run fine without a thermostat, right? Getting a good seal is another matter. If you've still got your old malfunctioning one you can cut the core out of it and still use the OE style seal. A thermostat is almost purely an emissions device. A thermostat does not keep a motor cool, it's there to make the motor hot as fast as possible. A hot motor burns fuel more efficiently, cleaner. A cold engine burns a little richer, has the potential to carbon up spark plugs a bit quicker, but it will eventually reach operating temperature at idle, and a bit cooler on the road with a clean radiator and working fan. An active O2 sensor helps a lot on lean/clean fuel ratios.
All you need are the dimensions and temperature range for your thermostat to go down to an automotive parts store.
