Where'd you find bags off an old Venture Royale?

I’ve always said the S 10 is an ugly bike but that just takes it to a whole new level

I'll withhold judgement until they're color matched. 'Cuz, you're right, they're not real purty as is. Although they should be very functional.

I think it could be a great addition, I’m still struggling with the top box, no matter what color it is painted.
But hey function over beauty wins every time

I think that top box could work if he reshapes the backrest and wraps it to match his seat. You just really need to carve a lot off of it to make it a esthetically pleasing.

"I" think the box would look/work better in the OE position. It doesn't appear that the back rest would be all that useful to the driver, but would be great for a passenger. And it has to be hard as hell to get a leg over it. I'm a fan of combining new and old. I put an FJ600 fairing on my 550 SECA. "I" liked the looks of it, but it confused most people. But the biggest, and unexpected, change was in aerodynamics. With the FJ fairing, I could pull red line in top gear, and it was stable. Don't know how fast it was going since they only had 85mph speedos back then. The Venture boxes look way more aerodynamic than any current boxes for a Tenere.

Aren’t we critical of somebody’s taking a lot of time to make something work. No matter what it’s a great job, well done and I hope he enjoys it.

I like to think of it as constructive criticism. I mean he did ask for thoughts.

If I came across as critical, it was not meant that way. I will never poop on anybody's project. I like it. I just gave opinions of how "I" would do it. Not expecting him to pay attention at all. He might tell me to pack sand. But, Bill's right, he did solicit our thoughts.

Thoughts?

Winter project, modify left side case to decrease width, fab mounts, paint to match.

Looks better than the Givi cases it came with. Bonus backrest!
I will look forward to seeing the additions color matched. I have a 2015 with black GIVIs on it. IMHO, it makes the bike look utilitarian..more red ought to really brighten it up
