I hate to say it, but as we roll into July, looking around it getting challenging to think October would even be realistic.

No further commentary from me regarding the the merits on why that observation is hitting me.

2020 sucks!!!

A flat I could fix. I've had three out of four big rides cancelled or significantly altered this year. Keep getting blocked by states or even countries I'm heading to, or traveling through.

I expected all this stuff to be over by now, but damn...

Yea, my son graduated BOOT in March, no ceremony.
I had a class for work in OKC, 2 concerts and maybe a 3rd, canceled.
A trip to St Louis with the wife for RATM, postponed.
Knotfest in Memphis, canceled.
2 bike trips, no one wants to go, I can get into AR easy.......
2 float trips, canceled.

Oh yea my wife lost her job.

Why are we NOT planning a trip for this for OCT? Nope, I am. Like I said before I have 2 weeks off in OCT, I have to take leave at the beginning of the year. so far I have only used 2 vacation days I need to burn up the rest or I will loss them.

John, I know Uncle Bob ain't going to make it. You and I can roll together, my word is bond. We will met with Jax and a few others if that is the only folks that go. I have or can get us the resources we need to get this done, I think we all need it.

Maybe Uncle Bob can’t make it but Big cousin Bob needs to take the toy hauler somewhere.

I plan to get another Gunner shirt! Nice soft fabric.

DM has it in her head we're going to do the canceled spring ride in October. Who am I to tell her, No.

Love to see it happen.

At least the desert is open for riding. No restrictions at all. All kinds of camping available. I'm thinking about a nice leisure ride through Death Valley in the next few weeks. It's a perfect time of the year for it. Perfect dry weather!!

Side note:

I stayed at the HUB this past weekend, took a road trip with the wife. No not on the bike, we went to the Current River in MO and came back thru AR on the way home. Drove a few on of my tracks and showed her a site or two.

Debbie was nice and needed the revenue, the place is as expected, only a few riders there, restaurant was closed. The room had new furniture, bed was nice and AC was cold.

Like I said earlier I will be there in OCT, for those that want to go......

The Hillbilly Dual Sport rally is happening at the Marble Falls resort (Hub) the second weekend of October. Its a very loosely organized ride put on by me.

You folks are welcome to attend.

May I ask your first name? I did that ride a few times. I think it was like 5 or 6 years ago.......

It was going on the same time the AR 500 was, I could be wrong. I was over there and had a flat, as I was plugging it. Her comes a few smaller bikes. A couple guys stopped and told be about the ride. My memory may be all mess up and fuzzy but I am sure we have met at some point.

Sure, I'm Michael.
We used to have a conflict with the Ark 500 that is put on by Scott at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge until he and I got together and coordinated dates.

The Ark 500 was moved to the first weekend in October this year so the Hillbilly DS ride is the following weekend :) I will be doing both!

I believe there are still some openings for the Ark 500. Its a three day ride out and back from/to a base camp with great routes supplied and its big bike friendly. I lead a group each day.
It's a fund raiser to feed and take care of those always hungry big cats at Turpentine Creek.

Not trying to hijack your event but there are three good rides happening in Arkansas in October.

Go to www.advrider.com and look in the Riding > Rallies forum for Rally at the Rock, Arkansas 500 and Hillbilly Dual Sport.
Lots of great riding to be had with any of these!
