If I was you.....I would do the new 700 Tenere ...I am also 5 8" 200lbs....find this would be a better fit....just my 2 cents
Depending on what your plans are for the bike....you are absolutely correct. But, if long distance is the future, the T-12 will be the better choice over the T-7.

I ended up with an '18 S10 1200. Like @Sierra1 stated, it will be for a lot of 2 up riding and going long distance. It is a better fit for me. The T-7 does look cool though! Just not enough moto for what I will be using it for.

If you're going to keep it for a long time, buy a Gen II, 2014 or 2015 so you can check your own codes
Sorry bout the thread dredge,

About the codes so a 2014 & 2015 you can access them thru a jumper/paper clip ? and later ones you cant without a dealer tool or something ?

Cheers

I bought a 2014 non ES new and had the dealer order the heated grips which I installed. I've since replaced the rear shock with a touratec.

I just thought I'd point out that you don't need to buy the ES to get the factory heated grips. They plug right up and are controlled through the dash.
