The state I'm living in requires the engine number as well as the VIN number for motorcycle title/registration. Anyone know where I can find the engine number on my 2012 Super Tenere? Thank you!

Page 9 - 1 of my owners manual shows how to find the VIN and the Model number but nothing about the engine number. There isn't a page 10-1.

Did they actually ask to see this?

Left side of the bike, look in the opening below the seat, in front of the coolant bottle and to the inside of the driveshaft/u-joint boot on the back of the engine.

Most inspection stations/DMV will know where to look for these things themselves.

Not sure what Owner's Manual you have...

The Engine Number is on the right side of the engine above the clutch.

Minnesota requires engine serial number to register used motorcycle.

I can't find pics of our two previous Super Teneres that show the engine serial numbers. Get down on floor with a flashlight, you'll find it.

^^^ this. There are numbers on the back of the engine as I described in an earlier post, but I think Tim has the correct answer for what your DMV will be looking for, and it's a lot easier to see.
