Been prepping the bike for the first of this years trips across the Channel. New tyres, diff oil changed, engine oil and filter change, check over and now ready to go, albeit towards the end of next week.

There’s a few of us heading just south of Grenoble, in a Gite for a week, then a smaller group heading back over part of the Route Des Grande Alps, the Black Forest, Luxembourg and Ypres, before catching the ferry. Whilst at the Gite, day trips out will hopefully include, the Ardeche, the Route Napoleon, Col De La Bonette and a few other jaunts.

Bikes - 1290KTM, S1000XR, Tracer, 2 x CB1000R and a Tiger 800 and a Super Tenere.

Well, that all flew by pretty quickly!

Spent two days riding down to the Gite in some very hot weather, on a mix of somewhat dull and interesting roads.

Arrived at the Gite and unpacked for a week! Days out on the bike included, the Vercors, the Ardeche, Mount Ventoux and various other mountain pass type routes. Having done probably in excess of 40 European trips, I really must say that the Gite was a refreshing change from the usual packing/unpacking and moving on each day.

Route home was via the route the grande alpes (partial), Col De La Bonnette, Col De Iseran, Mt Cenis etc. Last night was at Ypres and the Menin Gate for the Last Post ceremony for WW1.

All the bikes behaved as you’d expect from modern machinery, mine done a headlight bulb, which was easily sorted in a few mins.

2800 ish miles which the clock says 52 mpg.
