What did you do to repair it?
I used the 12 mm X 1.5 helicoil kit I purchased from Amazon, and I used an Irwin drill bit (forget the size) as recommended by the helicoil kit.

I did purchase a new gasket from Rocky Mountain.

I have a feeling I may have to revisit this matter again in the future...

Someone in this forum once said, “If you don’t have the time to fix it right the first time, What makes you think you will have the time the second time?”

Now it’s your time. And we have all been there and done that. If you don’t have a good feeling about the repair I would go back and make it right. Oil is the life blood of your bike. If things go sideways it could be costly.

agreed what concerns me is he is not thinking the repair will hold up. There is more than one way to skin a cat.
It is holding up well. I won't do an improper repair. What I meant to say is, if it does not hold up during the next several oil changes, I will once again drop the pan and then just thread it out for a 14mm bolt.

Okay, I've decided to go a different route. I'm replacing the pan. I thought I ordered the pan once, but they sent the screen cover instead, even after I told them expressly that I didn't want that part. Anyone have access to the part number? Their pictures only show the entire breakdown and the pan itself is not shown there. Also, anyone know the part number for the three long Torx bolts that go in the screen cover? I confess, those were a pain to get out.

Thanks, Oldrider! I got that schematic thanks to a different parts supplier. I have the parts on order, now hopefully, they don't have to ship all the way from Japan like my misordered parts.
