Cardo has made some refinements to the real voice feature. The Packtalk Bold also has “real voice”. What firmware version are you running? Perhaps update it if not using the current version?

Could be. I think they’ve made specific improvements for different English dialects in some of the latest firmware updates.

My experience is limited to the Edge, and I have a grand total of 3 rides with it. Not much, but I have noticed some things.

Cardo does not recommend using bluetooth. It is considered a backup and exists for linking to old fashioned technology like Sena ;). I say that because the app that connect to the Cardo unit appears much more robust on the mesh side vs the bluetooth side. I'm not sure the Hey Cardo would even work with bluetooth.

The Hey Cardo does work, but it's not perfect. I've tried, Hey Cardo, Music On, and I get a response, "microphone muted." I've also found sometimes it doesn't hear me at a talking volume and I need to raise my voice a little.

Also found I must say the exact right words. Any deviation keeps the unit silent. Hey Cardo is good, but the whole OK Google thing is very hit or miss, mostly miss. Pretty sure that's a problem with my phone setup and not the Cardo Edge.

I'd say I hope that helps, but I suspect it didn't.

Yeah, the Bluetooth is primarily intended for pairing to a phone or GPS, not intercom or bike-to-bike.

i,ll try and get the english USA voice off, and try and see like mark said if there is a WELSH english voice to recognise me glad i,m not from LIVERPOOL lol
Worth considering is what Mic you use. When I used the boom Mic on the Sena it was awful. My GF had the boom Mic aswell and you pick that up. I switched to the mic that is flat about 20mm wide that I put on the side out of the winds and noise. Much better for us. I don't know what Mic the Cardos use but this may well be an avenue work pursuing. They rely heavily on noise reduction to make them work so it could help. Also while I am at it i can't see that these units operate on anything other than Blutooth for comms. So the post saying they don't reccomend it does not make sense to me. Can someone elaborate.

cardo packtalk bold, comes with a boom mic, and a lead mic for full face helmets, you have to use boom on a open face flip up lid, but lead mic
on a full face.
it pairs up to other cardo on mesh easier than bluetooth, i have satnav and phone connected to it on blurtooth, but comms is all mesh

This is where i am confused. As far as I can determine Mesh is Blutooth daisy chained between the riders to improve coverage. But it's still Blutooth.

rob;
I was having some of the same problems with it not recognizing the "hey Cardo" commands.
I read some tips where they said don't talk louder or pause after "hey Cardo" to try to fix the problem, just talk like you normaly would.

However, this is what helped me. When saying Cardo, I think I was being lazy in pronouncing the "o". So I started over emphasising the "o" and that worked for me.

Question for Cardo users - I'm wondering about the "Hey Cardo" and subsequent commands. Is this something that others hear if you are connected to other communicators?

I've got Sena 20s for most helmets and a 10U in my aging Schubeth C3 Pro. Will probably make the change when that helmet gets replaced. I haven't been excited about the fussiness with the Sena system and challenges connecting comms. Not terrible, but not a smooth experience.

Yes others on mesh will hear you unless you mute the intercom. I’ve found that any loud noise, like a cough, will work if “hey Cardo” isn’t working.

As far as I know Mesh is different than Bluetooth, it is a Mesh network that others with the same Mesh capability can join. You can have your Mesh connected to another rider but still have 2 other items hooked up to Bluetooth devices (like a phone or a GPS). I can't tell you the science behind it but my understanding is it is a different system.
