Original posting. The one where I bought the shock a week or two ago:

“I bought this for my ex-Tenere, but I hit a cow and destroyed it before I ever got to install it. This is an OEM shock with a Hyperco 1100 pound spring on it. If you ride 2-up, or for whatever other reason you have to have your preload turned all the way up just to get close on sag, this is a great inexpensive way to get much better suspension performance. The springs alone are from $80-$100 plus shipping when bought new. I live in Hartsville, TN, which is about 50 miles East/Northeast of Nashville. If you want to come here, it's $180. If you want me to ship it, it's $210 anywhere in CONUS.”

Yep, a drunk purchase made by yours truly. I didn’t comprehend at the time the stuff I bought was for a Gen I. I just received the stuff today. Didn’t even open the box the shock is in.
The stock screen in the other hand, I did, to take a look at, and I don’t want to bother with whatever mods are required to get it to work on my Gen II. I was planning on chopping the heck out of it to make a shorty screen.

Regarding the shock I’m pretty sure it’ll fit the Gen II but I’ll leave it up to prospective buyers to verify. My plan was to save my money for a Wilber’s or HyperPro shock but the booze intervened. I’d simply like to cut my losses as much as possible. If I can get $200 shipped CONUS I’ll be happy. If the shock buyer has any interest in the screen it’s yours and I’ll pay shipping.

I’m in Petaluma CA and will gladly offload both for $175 if you come get it. I’ll even meet you within a 25 mile radius.

If there are no takers after a few weeks I may open the box and mount it on my bike just for the hell of it. Lord knows I could use a heavier spring :)
