Finally got to go for a ride today after 2 weeks. ???

Stopped at the 49ergrill in Acton. As I was parking a young boy leaving said "nice bike I want one like that" and of course that made me smile.
As I walked in a guy said "I used to have one like that". Thinking that he might be thinking it was a BMW I said "what kind" and he replied "S10 blue one saddest day of my life when I had to sell it". And I believe I saw a tear in his eye.

Poor guy. I didn't know what to say. Money, marital problems not my business. If I wasn't driving would have enjoyed sharing a beer with him.

If you're out there, hope you get another blue one and I get to see you on the road.... ::26::

I've been on the "had to sell" end of that scenario, it sucks. But, just like things can go bad, they can turn around again. They make more motorcycles everyday so there's always lots to pick from when it's time.

I've not seen many but they're out there. I crossed paths with a Tenere while crossing the Weston Pass and owner said he was pushing 90,000 miles on his. Saw a 2nd on the UTBDR and that was it for my 2wk Western ADV. Beemers, Triumphs and holy Harley Davidsons everwhere else. This Country is cruiser crazy!

Now, in my 3rd year of ownership, I notice these hidden gems mostly while traveling twisty, mountain roads and lonely, forgotten gravel dragons tucked back in the NC hills.

If it was me I would have stopped and had breakfast.

Rarely go to the Rock Store but go to the Rock Inn from time to time.
