Sticky downshifting, smooth upshifting

I don't really have an answer. Just live with it. I've noticed I have to be aware of my timing with the blip. If I'm a little late my clutch isn't as smooth. I've bled the clutch fluid changed oil, synced carbs. Also installed G2 throttle tamer, which I've had on other bikes. Bottom line: I've learned to work with the bike a little better and I'm OK with the clutch idiosyncrasies.

so what happened. i hate when im looking at posts and the OP never comes back with the answer.....
I had the same symptoms as OP. The culprit in my case: the shifter pivot. When I disassembled it, it was dry as a bone in there. Metal on metal. Where did the grease go in 5 years time, only God knows. Evaporated maybe? Or pushed out by rain or pressurized water when washing the bike? Oh well. I regreased it, taking extra care to completely pack the small grooves that act as a reserve. The problem instantly vanished. Good as new.
