I need to replace the steering head bearings and races on my gen2 and want to confirm that Yamaha supplies the bearing and race as one part.

Upper: 93332 00078 00
Lower: 93332 00081 00

One only has to order these two numbers to get both bearings and appropriate races?

TIA

A much better choice would be the tapered bearing kit from All Balls. I put these on my V Strom several years ago for a remarkable improvement. They last longer too
Tucker Rocky # 416236
All Balls # 22-1001. Fixd
$30-35 from several places

I'll look into them as well. The same question applies, does one get the race with the bearing, or is it a separate part #?

Why do you feel they need to be replaced? Does it feel notchy? I'm asking because those are conical roller bearings and have many times the surface area of ball bearings, so unless the front end was very loose and had the shit beat out of it for a while like that, they are very difficult to destroy and may just need to be tightened. In any case, usually only the uppers need replacing. Forget everything I just said if they had no grease or have rusted. LOL

I have a noticeable notch. My guess is that it is most likely the result of too much abuse while not properly tightened.
I’m under the impression that it is best to replace both while in there.
