Ok, I put the standard screen down to lowest setting and wore my Shoei Raid helmet (not my Arai Tour X3), the buffeting was reduced by quite alot.

Tomorrow I will try another run with the screen in same position riding the same route but with the Arai Tour X3 helmet on, that way we will see if the helmet is creating part of the problem.

I'm 6.1 and I have the calci large screen. It's better then the stock it did reduce the buffeting for me. I have been thinking about getting the adjuster and the wind deflectors to make it perfect.
One thing I notice with calci is that over 180kmh speeds the bike is not very stable..anyone experience that? Also does wind deflectors work?
180?! That's 112 mph! I don't really think that this is the bike to be doing that kind of speed on. At least no too often. ;D

...To counteract this I have ordered a Touratech windscreen adjuster and two different screen from Calsci, one touring and one shorty, I really hope that I can eliminate this problem as I couldn't live with it.

Anyway what are your thoughts, experiances and opinion's on the subject?

:)
I'm curious to how the Tourtech adjuster compares to the WaspWorks adjuster. Are they both the same design or do they differ? I've seen the reviews of Wasp's adjuster on ADVrider, and looked like something I would purchase. Given that, the price to get one of these to the US is very high, which makes the Tourtech a bargain.

Can you please let us know what you think of it?

good question Tierhawg..It would be nice to know since wasp adjuster would cost me arm and a leg to get it to Turkey.

ptfjjj, you should have seen it when I was doing 225kmh ;D but it does not do any more then that

Hi Tier and Turk,

I believe that the range of movement from the Touratech version is less than Wasp's version, I'm still waiting on my Touratech order to be delivered, as soon as I have it I will post pictures and a review.

Good to know it's helped, what sort of % difference do you thinks it's made? Just trying to gauge what I should expect.
Depends on the wind conditions and turbulence from other traffic, but in calm conditions the buffeting is almost gone with the OEM touring screen. So 90% better...I have the screen in middle position and saddle in high position. My line of sight is 6 to 8 inches above the top of the screen, so I am in the airflow, albeit with reduced turbulence. In windier, turbulent conditions there is still a moderate amount of turbulence. I had Givi tall screen and Matsdad screen adjustor for my DL650 and even that did not eliminate turbulence in windy, turbulent conditions.

Thanks RMac, I'll try some other options tomorrow, didn't really think about changing the seat height, not even sure how much difference there is between high and low.

i don't know if these items are the same as the windscreens under discussion but according to the tenere info site a new tall windscreen and a new set of fairings will be available for purchase next month . i am planning on ordering the new yamaha tall windscreen and the new yamaha fairings -- as opposed to the calsci stuff -- because i do not enjoy bugs in my face and being blown like a hurricane . i hope these overpriced pieces of plastic do the job . i don't ride faster than about 55 mph anyway so the bigger the windscreen the better for me . i am sure the calsci tall touring screen would also work fine but i will try the tall yamaha windscreen first and if it is not an improvement over the stock then i will try the tall calsci screen . when i ride a bike i like there to be no wind no rain no bugs perfect temperature and no traffic . such conditions never occur .

Hi, I think they are the wind deflectors and touring screen that have been available for some time, several of the guy's here have them already, I know that Wasp has the deflectors for sure.

High position on seat raise you about 1 to 2 inches. I have tried both seat positions and I don't find a big difference in airflow over the screen. I prefer the high seat location for posture and comfort even though I can't flatfoot.

Don't be too hasty with the new screens. Greg (Wasp) reverted to the standard screen with his screen adjuster. Reckons it's the best set up. I rode mine again today ... still could find a squally zone ???

To late pal, I bought everything already, just waiting for it to rock up

Not down with this term "still could find a squally zone"

That's because you're not a Texican ... we can't write or speak proper we can't. Should have said ... 'still couldn't find a squally zone'. You know squally .... aka tempestuous, turbulent ya da ya :)
