I'm considering fitting this TPMS. Although this system is in the UK it looks very similar to the Cyclops system available in the US.

to my Super Tenere.

I've contacted the company and they say that they've had no reported issues with the 'valve caps' on rubber stems.

Anyone on here had any experience of this set up?

Cheers

Mike

I’m using Garmin’s TPS’s on rubber stems without any issues for about 5yrs now.
I swap them back and forth to my K75 which also has rubber stems.

Thats very re-assuring.

I live about 45 miles away from the supplier and I often ride in that area so I may call in to have a look and a chat.

Many thanks

Right on Richard!! I’ve been wanting to use that 595LM feature but was concerned. Do they screw on the OEM valve stems?

I have heard that these caps use battery like a crazy!! Thats why I does use them on my 595, but it is not correct?
How long does the battery last in the Garmin sensor? (on valve)

Looking at the instructions, it looks like you can set up the Garmin caps to go into a "sleep mode" when the GPS is off or wheels are not turning. I'm still going for it. For 65 bucks is worth a try. I want to take advantage of as many features as possible with this unit. This GPS is a huge upgrade from my 76CSX!!

Åh could be..
But the way I read it, there is nothing to set up, all is already automatic.
The reason for asking, is because one af my friends had these caps, and changed battery very often..
This was though the Garmin 395 (i think), maybe it is different on this model.

(and I miss a "not" in my previus post:( = I'm not using these caps due to the experince from my friend, about battery consumption)

I have the Zumo 395 with Garmin TPMS caps on both wheels. I installed them 9 months ago with the batteries provided and I am just now getting a low battery warning from both sensors but the pressures are still displayed so I haven't replaced them yet. I've ridden about 70,000 kms with them installed including the trip to Tuktoyaktuk. I have steel valve stems in both wheels.

I have the Cyclops model with rubber stems. I've ran them under water, in mud and sand and haven't had any trouble with em so far. I figured I'd lose one by now, but so far so good. The only little issue I'm having is that one is letting just a wee bit of air out every week. I'm saying like 1 psi a week, nothing crazy. It's nice knowing what pressure you're running when riding down the road.

I know the batteries in mine have been in them since March 2017.

I need to add, I guess that I did have a defective sensor that went through a batteries too quick, I filed a warranty claim and got a new one. No issues since.

Okay, seems like my friend have been using old batteries, or something is wrong with his valve caps.
Thanks for responding:)
