Hello everyone. Hope you're all having a great 2022 riding season.

Unfortunately there is some some sad news from our days at Romney. I learned this weekend that our friend, twodogs (Alan), passed away this year. I do not have details on his passing, I only have fond memories of the time Alan shared with us at the Camp N Ride.

If you signed into the Camp N Ride, or walked past the sign-in desk on your way to the sales floor, there's a good chance you encountered Alan. He, and his brother-inlaw, Larry, always made it a point to work the desk for a day when they attended the Camp N Ride.

Alan and Larry were among the 7 riders who kicked off the inaugural Camp N Ride. Back then, Alan was new to the Adventure bikes after many years of riding Harleys and being active in Harley group riding. I had the pleasure of riding sweep right behind Alan as he experienced his first real off pavement riding on the Super Tenere. By the end of that first day he had learned a lot, and was excited about it.

Over the years I grew to know and appreciate Alan as a kind, thoughtful, generous man who was willing to quietly share his wisdom. I learned so much from Alan and always looked forward to catching up with him each year at the Camp N Ride. Alan did not post a lot on the board, but I know for a fact, he was always keeping up with the activities here.

Alan was a truly nice guy.

Unfortunately there are so many broken photo links in the old Romney threads that I found almost no remaining photos of Alan. This was all I could find.

That's sad.
I have wandered many times how twodogs was doing. I met him at Romney and was impressed with him.
When I walked into the sign up he said, "are you Steve?" I was kind of stunned and he said " I recognized your riding clothes" I had wore that gear in a ride report he had read.
Very nice guy.

Alan was good people and always made me smile. He'd told us that he'd had a couple of fights with cancer and knew he didn't have a lot of time, but it still hurt when D_D called to say Alan had passed.
Below is a 2018 photo with him in the black jacket.
