Sparks plugs mistake....

Hi all.
By mistake I have bought 4 NGK cpr8ea9 instead of the original cpr8eB9...
Is there a significant difference?
I don't want to start the job and find myself with out the right plugs...

I generally would recommend just returning them and getting the right part number... BUT, per the NGK cross reference chart, both of those plug numbers are upgradable to the same iridium plug number, meaning they are the same size so theoretically you should be good.
The difference between the a and b is likely the material used, but again, if you have a local parts store then I would just swap them for the right ones.

I have bought them with the oil and oil filter on internet so I might as well get 4 new...
I just hate having them wasted...
I might try them on anyway and see if the bike doesn't like them:D.

The difference in A&B is the firing end of the plug, but I can't find anything that shows what the difference is.
Yes, the catalogue is very vague about FE construction.

A = Special Design ........ whatever that might mean?
B = Integral Terminal (Solid)

Otherwise, the size, resistor type, heat range, gap etc are identical.

Probably perfectly OK, but personally, at this price point, I wouldn't be experimenting.

I agree with you.
I either try to have them swapped or I'll will buy them again.
I just hate the idea to have them laying around my already messed up little garage...:)

It is missing the " nut " ( I don't know how to call it in English...)

Since that's the only difference then I'd probably just unscrew the spark plug terminal nut from the old ones and install them on the ones you just bought. As long as they arent corroded, the terminal nuts are still good.

Really? That seems odd. Is that an NGK issue? God knows I've had plenty of terminal nuts come half heartedly installed on other plugs and had to hand tighten them before installing.

Yep, I’m part way through an air filter and plug change myself and went out to the garage to double check. The terminal is a permanent part of the standard plug. I know what you mean though, over the years, cars and bikes, the terminals always seemed to be screw on/off.
