Youse guys looking at yer plugs with 5K miles have too much time on your hands. Ride more, worry less. Tenere is Tonka Tough.

Those don't seem to have the projected tip of the OEM plugs.
Denso says 0.5mm projected, so you don’t see it visually. That’s the whole point of me trying and reporting if you use iridium plugs elsewhere, but not been able to find one for S10 in your country. All I’m showing here is the plug works as it claims and it looks fine for few tens of thousands of miles now.

Manual calls to check spark plugs every 4K miles and replace every 12k miles FYI.

And the Collective's information is saying that is way too conservative.

A few advantages on checking on plugs even before it is due.

1.Corroded plugs could just get married to the engine block and becomes permanently stuck and the plugs break when trying to remove them.

2. Condition of the fueling, rich, lean, oil leakages into plugs etc can be known earlier.

3. Indirectly checking on Coil's corrosion. You know how water seems to find its way into the plug wells way too easy. Early intervention will save the coil.

It can be argued, (and is all the time) that some preventative maintenance items (valve adj, plugs, brake lines change, radiator fluid, hoses, etc) are way too conservative, or way too lengthy, (brake fluid, oil, oil filter, shaft oil, fork oil, throttle body sync. etc).

It's funny listening to the many arguments we make to justify our own comfort level for maintenance, if it contradicts what the people that actually built the bike, suggest. LOL

After reading a bit about the claims of '2DaMax' and the NGK plugs, I was like what the heck. I tracked them down and bought the NGK G-Power CPR8EAGP-9 from Japan. (that was kind of a pain, they don't sell them in the USA) I was in the middle of a valve check and threw in the new plugs. Knowing they will make no 'real' difference I had NO expectations. I don't want to embellish or gloat my feelings about the difference in the performance of the new plugs. I will only say, these plugs ADDED a noticeable performance to the bike :) I would agree on how 2DaMax describes what he felt, and then add, with the other mods to my bike the difference is better (to me) than what 2DaMax has described. I do like them, and would suggest them to other owners.

FYI, to the forum. I didn't really know this was a "thing". But evidently FAKE performance spark plugs are a "thing". They are being knocked off more and more. They have these plugs on eBay for about the cheapest price. These are probably fake. FYI.......... If you have interest in buying them, do your home work and buy them from someone reputable....

I don't sell them... I bought them from: www. Japan spark plugs.com

If you have any questions Ill be happy to tell you what I know............

I have the same plugs as posted above and have been using them for a couple of months. I'll 100% agree! I've bought in to spark plug gimmicks in the past and have NEVER noticed a difference until now! I highly recommend these plugs!

Edit: As I was: I used NGK Laser Iridium CR8EIB-9 (5258) I had called NGK and they said these were the equivalent for the American market I called NGK to see if there was a way to get the above spark plugs in America and they told me of the ones I listed as being the same.

Hi Tabasco, what's your expectation of a change interval for these? I would love something like the Iridium plugs in my Accord that have something north of 100K

From the home work I've done, Iridium is the hardest material used and will last 100K++ miles... These plugs Ive mentioned are Platinum. They are a better material than 'stock' but are not recommended to do a 100 like Iridium. Ive read that these Platinum should be good for 25-50K depending on who you "trust" on the internet. ( I'm no scientific spark plug expert ). Ill just keep an eye on them but im thinking 25-30K, maybe more, maybe less. Ill keep an eye on the gap as well. And if/when I need new plugs, I will be buying another set of these.

What I do know is this, they give the bike more pep, 100% !

TABASCO, where did you buy these in Japan? I'm in Japan and can't find them. Thanks.

Thanks Tabasco for confirming on the CPR8EAGP-9 Platinum plugs performance. Some think I was on some kind of weed. haha. Cheers!
Didn't believe you before, just have never heard of a gain like this for a plug. But you now have corroborating testimony so dang I'm gonna have to try these. I'm overdue for a SE Asia trip anyway so now I have another reason (excuse).

Regarding plug life. I've typically replaced my OEM copper plugs at 32-40K intervals and all have been 100% fine at that point.....BUT..just yesterday I finally resolved an intermittent problem with my bike. Has been on/off and manifesting itself in many different ways and severity for the past 5K miles. Had been thinking water in gas, bad gas, bad COP or an electrical issue as had ridden through some heavy rains and let the bike sit outside in the rain overnight while traveling for weeks during this time. Well problem was one bad sparkplug and I had just recently replaced them so it starting failing at only 8K miles. First time ever for me to measure a sparkplug. Really only did it because I had plugs in front of me on counter and had just checked all COP's for primary and secondary resistance so had meter sitting there while drinking a brew. First 3 plugs measured ~3.5 ohms and then the last one read some crazy number and was jumping all around. Kind of in disbelief I measured it again carefully and it was ~3.5 ohms. I then pressed down one end to counter and put firm pressure on the electrode and the readings went crazy again. New plugs installed and bike running like new again.

Has anyone got a side by side image of this CPR8EAGP-9 and the OEM CPR8EB-9? I'm interested in comparing the extended noses.

Silver.

if you do come over to Penang Malaysia, I got a set of CPR8EAGP-9 I can pass to you. I got it on a steal of a price at US$3.20 a piece. Mine is not due for change but purchased them as they were on specials. Got it from on-line stores.

It would be easy to source for this plugs in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia because it is used on a very popular Moped, Yamaha LC135. But terminal nuts are needed as these G-Power plugs does not have them.

Hi Twinrider,
I see NGK Japan doesn’t even list the plug there. I bought Denso iridium (IU24D) that some people here are skeptical about, but it works very well. I bought it at Autobacs.
