If traction was his issue, he was probably using the BMW spec'ed Dunlop "run flat" tires. 1) They didn't actually run flat 2) They only had "ok" traction. We changed to the Metzelers, and had better traction with less flats.
At least he was dry !Coming back from Wales one new year's day morning, a friend on a Z650 pulled into a petrol station, stopped and his bike fell over. He was so cold his legs had seized. I got him in my car to heat him up. Jeez it was cold outside!
btdt and it sucks!Coming back from Wales one new year's day morning, a friend on a Z650 pulled into a petrol station, stopped and his bike fell over. He was so cold his legs had seized. I got him in my car to heat him up. Jeez it was cold outside!
I'm not going to get too concerned just yet.As for the TFT, yes the bike runs without it (hopefully) but I'd be looking at that thinking nervously
"what next"
"how much is this going to cost me"
"is this going to happen on our next big vacation trip?"
"Can" or "routinely does"... it's a fine line.Besides what D_D mentioned, DM can kick D_D's ass.
Hand so cold that you can't squeeze the clutch, so you just cup it (froze that way anyway) vertically in front of the clutch and pull back. Rates close to the getting caught in a hail storm....Coming back from Wales one new year's day morning, a friend on a Z650 pulled into a petrol station, stopped and his bike fell over. I haven't seen JSNS in a long time. Sure do miss BeemerDonS...DD, with all due respect to you and DM, there is a difference between an ass kicking and being whipped. JSNS
We had both in Hurricane Irene. Trees were bending so far the bark was falling off them leaving an unmistakable bark pattern on the road showing where they would eventually fall. Riding across enough of those bark warning markers got me to throw in the towel. Told DM I don't care what it is, but we're going to the first hotel the GPS finds. Fortunately they had a room, restaurant, and bar.I have found that I prefer rain to wind when it's either/or, but getting the two of them together just makes everything ,miserable...
Had to be terrible. You were riding right into the worst of it. I was way up north (stones throw from Canada) and spent the worst of the wind/rain indoors doing classroom stuff. The middle of the state got hammered that day.We had both in Hurricane Irene.
