Hello,

I have same bike - 2016 ES - I just sent a message to the owner/builder of the Soloboxes yesterday...they look really good... I was thinking about the new slim case (8") on the left side and the regular size (9") on the right... I see you are using the PL-2119 Givi racks... I would like to know what the distance is from the top mounting holes to the outer edge of the rack on the right side... reason I need this measurement is that I have a Give 47 liter top case that is quite wide...and I don't know if the new hinged box (right side) will open with the top case mounted... it looks like I need about 3 inches of clearance from the mounting bolts...

Thanks,

Not sure what you are asking for. I drilled holes into the side of the case and mounted them to the rack, using the existing mounting holes in the rack. There is about 1/8" from the rack to the box. I used a couple of rubber washers to take up the slack.

Hello Again,

I need the distance from the right rack mounting bolt to the right edge of the rack - that is, how far the rack is away from the bike on the right side (left is fine because of the exhaust) - my top box is very wide (about 4 niche overhang) - and it looks like I would not be able to get the right pannier open with the top box on...

Thanks again,

I have been watching this guy for some time on YouTube and I am impressed with his products. You have what appears to be the exact size top trunk I am looking for. Do you know the volume and how did you mount it, what brand of tail rack?

Thanks

Just ordered my boxes today from Eric. Left side 33 liter right side 39 liter for $340. Rear top box is 38 liters for $185 all in black. He doesn't make the racks for our bike but Happy Trails does. I ordered Happy Trails SU rack SKU HTP9-2-1.1T for $289 and Happy Trails Pannier Mount Kit Point 1 for .750 tube for $38. I was temped to order the tool kit but that was another $110. I do have the SW Motech rear box in black on now with very little use but ordered Eric's rear box so all will match. I will post the SW Motech rear box for sale after I mount the Solo boxes. I also have the complete lock sets keyed a like from SW for the rear and side boxes.

Went through his FB page and there are a couple of differences with the older Muffintop design, so removed my posts about those to prevent confusion.

How long from the time you placed your order did you receive the order? I placed my order on 3/6/18 it is now 3/27/18 and no order received. I sent Eric and email and he said they are at powder coating. He said the same thing on the 14th? Can't wait until I get them they look great and my racks are mounted and ready.

I ordered mine on 3/9 and he said they were going to be power coated the next day and it should take about 10 days. Still waiting for mine also.

It took about 1 - 1 1/2 months to get mine. I got the "out to powder coat" bit too. Your patience will be rewarded when you get them. IMO a great product at a great price.

UPDATE,
Just spoke with (via text) Eric at Solobox. Stated he is running behind and boxes are still at the powder coating. Stated his recent car accident is setting him back. Didn't give a date when he will ship them.

I received my solo boxes "all three" on Tuesday 4/17/18 "ordered on 3/6/18" and mounted the side boxes only on Wednesday 4/18/18. The build quality is good but the locks and hardware are steel that will rust in the coming years. The welds are some of the best I have seen and the powder coat is very good. For the price, if you are on a budget I don't think you can do better. I took the bike to work yesterday about 100 miles round trip and did notice the cross wind more a bit but not too bad. I took a couple of pictures at work not the best but you can get the idea of what they look like. The top box is SW Motech which I will keep on the bike. All stainless hardware, better locks and quick release.

What are the dimensions of these boxes? I looked at his fb page and can't find it there. Anybody having issues with these?
Thanks.
