Should set up a nice group ride! Up the PCH to Neptune's and up on the hills?

Thoughts? ::003::

I'm glad there are at least a few of us around here. We have a ride to Carrizo Plain National Monument in Ojai coming up if you folks are interested. It will be on Saturday the 19th. Feel free to look up Beyond Starbucks on meet up. We do off road adventure type rides for beginners and for the experienced. I'd love to have more S10s in the group if possible. If you have any questions on the up coming ride let me know.

Hi fellow So. Cal riders. I am looking for a little help here. I was about 1 week away from buying a Tiger 800 xc 3 months ago but I tore my achilles playing basketball before the purchase took place. I am now recovering from the surgery and if all goes well i will be in shape to ride again in March or April.

I have done alot of research and am now strongly considering the ST. I will ride mostly day trips to the various mountains (fire trails) all over so. cal. I thought the XC would be the perfect bike for this but I like to upside of the ST on longer distant rides/touring. I guess my question is ...is the ST fun on the fire trails? I know it will depend on experience ( i am coming from a KLR/DR background as well as CBR and Ninja in my younger days). I am not a newbie in the dirt but am somewhat itimidated by the size of the ST.

I put this in the So Cal thread because you guys would be familiar with the terrain i am talking about. Thanks in advance for any insight. By the way, I noticed a few guys in the south bay. I am up in PV myself.

Thanks!

Welcome or soon to be part of the ST family.

I would highly recommend the ST for fire roads and for long trips. It is a heavy bike in appearance and in feel at first glance. But that quickly goes away once you get riding. Proper shoes on the ST and some additional must have and she will treat you right.

See you soon

I know what dealer NOT to deal with. Stay away from Pacific Motor Sports 1358 Pacific Coast Highway, Harbor City, CA.

They never returned my call as indicated after meeting their sales manager face to face, and got a face full of attitude when I tried to purchase some race fuel for my 125cc Shifter Kart on my third visit. Their service is better, but no thanks.

If you don't mind the drive, I would go to Malcolm Smith Motorsports 7599 Indiana Ave, Riverside, CA. They have a Blue 2012 and a white 2013 in stock. and their listed price seem to be better than most.

Thanks again Havok. I don'd mind the drive and will heed your suggestion when the time comes. I just got to get this achilles back in shape and back in the saddle.
